Let's add more races to DH

Hi, I’m a simple man. I want my cool DH tank alt to have way more choices in race. Elves? Get outta here! It’s time to add races to the Demon Hunter!

I don’t care about the lore. I often use Reflecting Prism and Transmorpher Beacon, so I know a panda with demon wings can exist.

I don’t ask for much. Just tons more pvp content, healer benefits, and accountability from Blizz senior leaders. That’s basically it. And more races for demon hunter. Thanks.

Hmm it is on the demon hunter bi weekly annual meeting we have once every quarter to discuss more race options.

Considering what happened to warlocks it isnt completely unreasonable anymore, but there is a lot to discuss.

Expect an offical response from all demon hunters in quarter 5 2026, Feb 31st.

Here come the lore police to tell you that we’ll never be allowed to be anything but elves for the rest of WoW’s lifespan.

I, for one, can’t wait to play a vulpera DH to spite said people. :dracthyr_hehe_animated:

Playing an Illidairy would be fun too!

And here comes the mash up nihilist to tell us nothing matters other than their ability to be unique and come up with the most ridiculous and out of canon combinations possible.

(Psst Xavara)

(Your supposed to wait for a lore police comment before posting that. Now you just look silly)

(Dont froget to show up to the bi weekly annual meeting this quarter)

I said here they come, as in they are on their way, and right below my post is one of them! What I said was apt.

I will play a vulpera DH in their honor.

I mean, the way I see it, even the most stingy lore keeper has to admit that just A SINGLE choice of race per faction is a little too extreme. At the very least, maybe the elvish allied races could be a DH. But why not just go all out and have plenty??

Unlock the DHs!

It’d be interesting to see unique Demon Forms for every race. Blood elves and Night Elves, albeit similar, do have different models.

Vulpera better have a Nine Tailed beast.

lmao.

It wouldnt be hard to give demon hunter to void elves. The lore is there to justify it (somewhat).

Id like to play a vulpera demon hunter. Gliding around like a bat sounds both cool and hilarious.

Orc and Draenei. Already in the Illidari. No tweaking to the story necessary.

I would totally make a draenei DH alt to mess around with.

I will, once again, advocate for Gnome DHs.

At the very least - adding the allied race elves (Void Elf and Nightborne) to the DH class makes somewhat sense to me.

Those make among the least sense, given the timeline.

That being said, we’ve been told that “making sense” is a purely academic discussion, since everything is in queue to be made playable now, regardless of how much sense they make or plausible they are by the internal logic of this universe.

I am all for all races being able to be all classes. It makes sense that over time Druids, Monks, Shaman, Paladins and Warlocks would all take in/accept and train any who had an interest in them. I see no lore reason to turn them away, and I think the argument that “Gnomes/Goblins are too materialistic/greedy/whatever to be druids/paladins etc” is a weak one. People are individuals, and personality/beliefs are not defined by race. Especially in a world where the people live together as much as they do in Azeroth.

The ONLY ones that feel lore-bound to me are the Demon Hunters and the Evokers. Because in both cases these classes are tied very strongly to the races, they came about during a specific time, when they were the only ones there to have learned these powers. Demon Hunters were specifically elves that joined Illidian to fight the Legion, and took on fel power to accomplish it, and Evokers were literally made by Neltharian in secret.

I am sure that other races could and would eventually seek out the Demon Hunters and also want to accept that sacrifice for the power to fight their enemies and protect their loved ones, or seek vengeance, but I feel like the threat of the Burning Legion is behind is for the moment, so it doesn’t seem like the right time for that to take place.

And Evokers are too new, and I don’t know if their power is literally tied to their dragon bloodlines or not. Could their magic be taught to others? Could Dracthyr or the Aspects maybe, grand that power to other races who wanted to learn? I really don’t know, but if so it would still make some sense for that to take some time, a couple of expansions anyway.

Other than that though, yeah, I am 100% behind all races being all classes. I think at this point there is zero concrete lore reason against it for any of them but those two.

Make Vulpera DH happen.

How the history and intro quest is set up, then yes. It should be just Blood Elves and Night Elves that can be DH.

But, with a little imagination and recycling of assets, there’s nothing to say that by using the DH Class Hall new races could have been trained to bolster the ranks. (Something Blizz probably won’t due and just start players on a boat to Exile’s reach.)

It should not just be blood elves and night elves. I have been playing since TBC and I mained a druid from then up until Legion (since been maining DH). From Vanilla to Cata (6 years) your only choice as a druid was a tauren or a night elf. It was very limiting, boring after awhile. I was really happy the day they added troll and worgen options for druids. I will be happy again once more DH options are added. It has been 7 years with only 2 choices. I think it is unfair to people who have dedicated their time to DH like I have. Give me choices.
