Tank positioning is pretty key on that one.
I’m sitting here right now watching him run hither and thither. His health is trickling down so slowly.
I wasn’t paying attention and just flew to Feralas, like 6~7 of my chars did yesterday. I know it said one of the 4 dragons but they should give the name! It was sooo far to get to Hinterlands and nobody’s here. =(

Welcome to Classic WoW. Except Classic was even less forgiving than these throwbacks.
Corpse running over and over isn’t really a challenge…

Yeah, just avoid getting one shot by that giant 200yd aoe by sheer will power. And if you’re good, the game will know, and those sleep/stun circles sliding around on the ground will never pincer you in an unavoidable pattern.

It’s another untuned error from the last stat squish. They can not be bothered to make certain the automated process they used to do the stat squish was greatly flawed and ruined a great portion of old content.
They have gone piecemeal through some of it and made adjustments but it is obvious wow or the long time fans of wow are of any great concern to them.

Well there are no resist totems and auras available too.
Actually, it was easier… I killed him in vanilla.

Yeah, with a 40-man raid. It wasn’t “easy” at all. It’s not easy now either but they die eventually with enough persistence.
He hasn’t even been touched on one server I play on. On the others he just keeps snacking on players. This is why we need cross realm group finding. I miss WQGF.

It was easier in Vanilla, imo. Either it was due to proper tuning, having resist, or simply because people worked together as a group, I’m not sure. But it wasn’t a consistent death fest and getting one-shotted back then.
Group finder > custom > search dragon’s name > apply to group
The ability to find and join groups for this still exists. It wasn’t solely dependent on WQGF.
I am Tiamukuwitku and I approve this message. One shot orbs combined with sleep gas and a breath weapon are a bit much for a 36 gold drop, when my mains repair bill was 256 gold.

It’s not just Lethon, it’s all the dragons, Azuregos included. They literally one-shot you in a massive AoE aura that you can’t avoid, can’t heal through, and can’t run away from. This has nothing to do with “getting good”. I don’t mind a challenge, but Classic boss mechanics literally do not work with current WoW because we have no resistances to these auras.
I watched an entire 40m raid group wipe because everyone died so often to this issue that no one could rez from the rez button being on cool down. I would corpse run back, rez and insta-die as soon as I rezzed because of that stupid AoE aura. Repeatedly.
A challenge is one thing, but it’s not a challenge when the boss pulls you into it and kills you before you even realize where you are.
