With new Druid travel forms and character customization in the works, I just wanted to throw this out there:
A Worgen druid is a master of shapeshifting and should be able to take on the form of a bear, cat, etc. if they so choose, just like other druids. However, the Worgen form itself is already a bestial form that should be capable of fighting with claws and teeth, no weapons or further forms needed.
So what if Worgen druids were given an option (via glyph, class/racial quest, or otherwise) that makes it so when you click on Guardian or Feral form, you stay in your Worgen form, but your weapon appearance is hidden and you can use all Bear/Cat abilities (depending on your spec)?
We’re past the point of Guardian forms explicitly needing to be “bears”, or Feral forms needing to be “cats” (see Kul’tiran wicker-wolf form, or Zandalari ankylosaur or danger-lizard forms), and I’m ready to finally play a savage werewolf that doesn’t need to hold a sword or turn into a cat to do some damage.

I like the glyph idea, though I’m guessing there may be some reason Blizz hasn’t already done this (pvp maybe?)
Also, Running Wild should be instant.

Maybe so. For PVP situations, maybe they could make it so that if you choose the worgen-form glyph, your spec icon floats above your head as a sort of glowing sigil. Like, a glowing bear track or cat paw so your class/spec can still be identified at a glance. I dunno, just brainstorming.
I’m on board with instant Running Wild (druids have insta-travel form anyway). Also, Worgen should get a baseline heroic leap-esque jump ability, since about every worgen in the starting zone is jumping over rooftops and through trees.
If I was in charge of designing the Worgen race, I’d go nuts with it, lol.
Worgen druids need a Dire Wolf form for bear and a thinner Wolf form for feral.

Most likely it would have something to do with animations. Unfortunately, they have mostly abandoned racial animations for spells. Even if some animations do exist in model viewers, players are often restricted from accessing them through their characters.
Who are you and what have you done to Rhielle!?
I’m into it, but why stop at worgen druids? All druids should be able to transform into a worgen form if they choose.
