Thing is the movie is pretty much the musical, but film and musicals are completely different mediums. The whole idea of the musical was that performers could do their cats in their own way and to watch the awesome singing and dancing prowess, no CGI monstrosities. The “story” always sucked but that doesn’t matter when the point is the performance, however that’s not how a movie goes.

I saw the original when I was very young cause one of my grandmothers was a big fan of theatre in general. I just had no clue they made it in to a cgi movie.

I have YET to get the courage to go see it live.

I know. Of course it’ll probably be MONTHS before it comes back to where I live. There’s a local theater that does it, but of course with COVID … the place has shut down. So it’ll be some time before it goes ‘live’ again.

According to my my prior research, the subset of Vulpera that have no such speech impediments all wear extremely unusual hats. I’ve yet to determine the the cause of the correlation, but there has to be one!
