Let us swap covenants and stay 80 renown

If we have gotten 80 renown in a covenant we should be allowed to freely swap. I dont enjoy being stuck unable to play a spec because of the covenant choice. While yes, you can still play specs with different covenants, you are SO FAR behind the optimal covenant when you choose to do so.

Or just keep hemorrhaging players due to terrible game design.

stop minmaxing, you’ll be happier.

Unless I’m misreading this post, that’s basically what the 9.1.5 changes did, no?

AFAIK if you swap covenants youre still stuck at 40 when you buy that thing? i havent seen anything about staying 80 when swapping.

and

It isnt “min maxing” its a spec being almost completely unviable compared to another covenant in PvP. I.e- enh playing venthyr, ele playing necro/kyrian. Fire mage playing night fae, frost playing necrolord, etc. Without the special covenant stuff, the specs are nothing.

While i agree its annoying it doesn’t take that long to grind them up.

The change they should make is every bit of content that can drop renown should drop it, guaranteeed

grinding them up isnt an issue, but when I want to play another spec, I just cant because it doesnt work. For instance im necro on this mage, solely because frost necro build is the best aside from night fae fire. If I want to play arcane… Well, necro is downright terrible for it.

Same goes for playing enhance without chain harvest.

Id almost just wish it was another talent i could swap around. Because I hate being tied to a single spec because playing another one is out of the cards unless I swap.

You have to farm 40 to 80 on Covenants you haven’t already done it on, but I can switch between Venthyr, Kyrian and NF with minimal annoyance on my Druid. The only thing I lose is my in-progress missions and my HS gets reset to Oribos.

The bigger QoL buff would be to remove the RNG in catchup renown from dungeons, raids and Torghast.

If you get a covenant to 80 renown it will stay if you switch. You don’t ever lose renown levels when swapping covenants.

per char or per account?

per character

oh well that kinda hurts lol

i think he wants to… bring the 80 with him to NEW covenants.

Yeah that doesn’t so much work.

Do conduits swap over to the new Covenant? I’ve never swapped Covenants, so I don’t know these things.

Hang on, I’m confused. If getting the rest of the renown isn’t an issue… then what is the issue?

Yes. The only one that doesn’t is the Covenant specific one that buffs your Covenant ability. (The Convoke one, for a NF Druid)

But the item that gives you every Conduit at 200ilvl thankfully works on the Covenant one too, so between that and Conduit upgrades being spec specific, it’s not so bad getting your spec Soulbinds and Conduits up to snuff.

And if you swap Covenants and swap back, do you keep your renown, or do you lose it?

The op wants say you level night fae to 80.

Then when you swap to Kyrian they want it to stay 80 for Kyrian as well.

You keep everything except in-progress missions and your HS location (if it were set to your Covenant Hall) when you switch Covenants.

Can’t help but feel that this is a ‘you’ issue more than a Covenant issue.

That wouldn’t even make sense, how would building renown with night far make the kyrians like you more lol.
