There are hats that delete your hair if you wear them, and it looks horrible
I get that they’re trying to get rid of clipping or whatever but just give us the option to have the hair anyway
Shouldn’t it be relatively simple to do a union on a hat and hair model and remove the hair polygons that are above the hat?
I feel like Blender can do that.
my hairstyle is compatible with most hats blizzards please fix
Haha that’d be sick
I hope you can become Carmen someday
The answer is San Diego, California! And it’s a win-win because if it turns out that she isn’t located there, we’ll be at the beach and we won’t care anymore. Plus we’ll have so much fun on the beach, and put it on the internet so she gets FOMO and shows up.
Blizzard keeps adding cool hats, more real-life looking ones too. There is nothing real-life about the female’s wearing these hats. NPC’s have hoods with hair, Blizzard has managed to make hair visible without problems with very few helms including goggles. When it comes to the ability Blizzard has to allow us to have hair visible through our hats, Blizzard has the technology and it would be easy for them.
Hate to mention FFXIV but FFXIV doesn’t hide hair with hats, the most it does to hair is visibly make the hair look like it was put up instead of how WoW does it, completely cut off.
I’ve had glitches where my hair has shown through my helm, not in an appealing way, but it has happened.
If Blizzard is going to add more hats in the game that would be preferable for both genders if hair was able to show with them, they really need to. When they added actual, literal, beanies and doo rags.
Is it just me who looks at these hats and sees the need for hair to be visible? I would have purchased one of them if my hair was visible. I may never buy one because of how it looks in its current state, maybe if I thought they were limited and then I’d buy one in the event Blizzard makes hair visible in the future.
I’ve always hid my helm and prioritized farming helms like “Crown Of Empowered Fate” as well as having too many alts with Engineering and farming all the goggles possible. So many cool helms in the game that look like garbage because it makes my character look completely bald.
Please let these new hats have hair. I could have a reason to farm trial of style the entire day.
Please help us.
Blizzard took care of the problem with that new jester outfit by just removing your head altogether.
It is a performance optimization/concession and workflow optimization/concession. It would be nice to have extremely fine detail like this, but it’s a huge extra workload to rig every hairstyle to every hat, and it is a lot of extra geometry to show that isn’t necessary. It is a very good place for these concessions.
They gave you a new face and a hat that looks super heavy. To be fair, if they were giving us a hat like that they would need to remove our face as well.
It’s not the type of system that is click and click and click a thousand times over every single hat and hairstyle. It’s digitized. They program it in a certain way and then the end result which is not supposed to be ideal or perfect but can be fixed. Like in a very mass doable way. The hats and hairstyles are mainly the same design. The way the hats would fit on the character along with hair would be what is important and when things like clipping get in the way they can fix that. The technology Blizzard has is well equipped to handle a project like that quite easily.
For arguments sake it isn’t they could make new hats to allow hair being visible instead of redo all the existing ones.
If Blizzard ever modifies hats to accommodate the various hairstyles in the game, I hope they’ll also consider making it so that the Pandaren’s ears are also visible while wearing most hats (they disappear completely in a lot of the more form-fitting ones). The poor pandas look so weird without their fuzzy little ears.
