Let us play wow on PS5

This is long over due. Connect a keyboard and mouse and boom you’re done.

It’s not rocket science people.

You’re right, it’s just a bad idea.

how is it long overdue? ps5 isnt even out yet

The systems have been made and bought. the people just don’t have them yet but they’ll get them oh yes they will get them.

And how are PS5 players going to communicate with other players in this “multiplayer” game? Or are we just giving into how anti-social the game can be these days and shrugging on that :stuck_out_tongue:

So you should have that wrapped in by Monday right? You clearly have never actually written even a “hello world” application, let along a cross platform one.

It only works if every button is a aoe attack or heal. Unless you want to use a keyboard and mouse, but then why bother when a PC is far more powerful.

Sony would be upset and try to censor Blizzard.

So you’d play a PC game with PC tools, but not on a PC? That seems a little odd.

So… just use a PC?

I would say there were hardware limitations in older systems that would prevent playing it on console, but with the new systems I don’t think that’s the case.

Coming from someone who has played FF14, I know controller support in MMOs is possible, but that game’s GCD and global latency is built-in to be 250ms. So it’s much more suitable for controller in actual real world play.

This would work so long as it supported keyboards and mice.

You aren’t going to be building a gaming PC that contains a Zen2 8/16 CPU with an RDNA2 GPU for $299, though.

Never fear, I is here.

Why PS5?

Could run it easily on a PS3.

Or like a Xbox 360.

A calculator…

… a box with a chicken in it.

Yea, let me just call Blizzard up real quick.

Hey guys, stop everything you’re doing. Covenants? Conduits? Soulbinds? Balance? Nah, reverse engineer this crap and put it on Playstation.

You have 5 weeks. Good luck.

Good thing wow doesn’t need that then?

Honestly I wouldn’t care if they made a console version, so long as the servers were separate. I don’t think they’d gain many new subs from it though, mostly it would just be a few people moving from PC to console. Seems like a waste of resources.

Yeah no. I hate how I see this all the time being perpetuated but it hasn’t been this way since Classic.

Unless you consider 25fps playable, when all the stuff is happening on screen with players, bulldozer-level processors, especially low-clocked variants such as those found in the Xbox One, you’re in for a very very bad experience.

Maybe you could mod it. Doubt blizz is gonna let Sony or Microsoft have any rights.

I like this idea.

Keep parroting how WoW runs on a toaster, when in fact it’s so single-thread CPU bound that often newer games will run much better with lesser hardware despite recent DX12 implementations.
