Let us hide sheathed weapons

No one likes seeing weapons floating at our around our body clipping with everything they possibly can! Please, let us hide them!

And make it so you hold your staff upright instead of longways when running or idle in a non combat stance.

It’s almost 2020 for goodness sake.

Make a macro to unequip them.

I’d prefer having actual scabbards for swords and maybe a clasp or ringlet for maces and axes.

I love seeing Paladins with Ashbringer on their back, or Death Knights with Apocalypse, too cool.

Back-sheathed weapons look great when it’s either a good model or it ties in with your mog.

My only pet peeve are weapons like Ka’Graz’s Burning Blade, the flared point sticks 2 feet out to the side of your character, it’s too much imo.

What are these sheaths you speak of? Considering the size of most weapons on female Blood Elves now, making them hidden they’d look a little less ridiculous, instead of dragging along the ground.

Back sheathed swords CAN look good. Staves not always. 1H Maces and off hands often look ridiculous on your hip because they are so big. That’s why they need to give us the option to hide sheathed weapons if we want to.

Yeah I’m not into the waist sheathed weapons, they always look ridiculous.

Daggers look okayish, but a Rogue would have them in actual scabbards and also arrange them in a way that was partially or completely hidden from view.

You do have the option : make a macro to unequip them.

The new non cloak back slot items(tauren heritage totem for ex.) covers any back slotted weapons so they just apear in your hands when unsheathed

New ones coming with the new expansion too

This. It still amazes me that options that are widely available in other games aren’t here. It amazes me even more that the community tends to make excuses for the lack, instead of expecting standard MMO features from a pay to play game… Like when people say, “just make a macro for it”.

It is kind of amazing. I think it’s weird when people talk about how much work it would be or hard it is.

I mean, do you work there? Are you afraid of doing extra work? Let Blizzard worry about that, we’re just talking about the cool things we would like to see.

I was going to use a torch in my off-hand but inexplicably I sheath it on my waist. A flaming torch. It used to be off-hands were safe from this sheathing nonsense, but Blizzard seems to have gone out of their way to make them visible.

Speak for yourself, brandishing weapons is part of the warrior fantasy

Doesn’t brandish mean to hold and use in combat, not have them float about your person?

I’m with you here. And with Rooikat. On my warrior, the crossed hammers on his back look awesome. On anyone with a staff, or most long swords that sheathe at the waist, having it them magically glued to you looks like clown-town. Especially casters, where the weapon magically teleports to their back during casting then to the hands after. (Seriously guys, just do casting animations that use weapons. If Black Desert can do both on an engine that is way more detailed than WoW’s and with far less budget, then you can pull it off here.)

Bottom line is that we should have the choice.

I would still love to see this option implemented into the game and what better time to do this then in 9.1.

Yes the time is now. It’s 2021, not 1990. We should have had the option to hide sheathed weapons years ago.

As long as it’s an option :+1:

You can’t hide weapons without some sort of bypass (fist weapons, covenant cloak, macros) cause that might hurt the immersion or something, but DH wings vanish when not in use. Lawjek

Only if I can also do cast animations using my weapons.

It’s dumb to have all these staves and athames and whatnot, and never actually use them to cast magic with.
