Let us do timewalking week content in the open world

When it’s Burning Crusade week, I want to be scaled down to 30 or whatever as soon as I step into hellfire peninsula, not just in dungeons.

  • All previously completed non-repeatable quests reset for the week so we can re-do our favourite campaigns and flavor quests
  • World PVP objectives and rewards scale to 60.
  • Add world quests to the open zones to encourage high level players to explore. The world quests can reward gold, scaling items, and timewalking badges or even old-world currency like Argent Tournament badges for wrath or Marks of the World Tree for cata

Give me timewalking open world for each week. We have Chromie time, we have party sync, we can Make It Happen.

Why? Free rep?

More like free fun.

Would be cool if they included over-world events that were part of that expansion but have since been removed. Like prepatches. Could you imagine the zombie pre patch event every Wrath time walking?

Or opening the dark portal?

Maybe if they made it an instanced version you queued into, like a Warfront or something.

I just want people to care about pvp in auchindoin or Hellfire again.
Maybe they could add world quests to those zones for timewalking week.

Which would be useless for non pVpers.

World quests however would go a long way towards repopulating older areas.

I like this idea. Items scaling back to 60 could also be cool. Letting you gear out your alts in old world zones.

Papers aren’t allowed.

I really like this idea and think Blizzard should continue to capitalize on the scaling technology for old world content. One thing I really wish they would add is the option to do Threads of Fate but be able to level from 50-60 in dungeons from other expansions.

Unless they actually improve on the world quest system I think world quests are best left in current content. Let’s not muddy up past content with that mess.

Yeah, I wasn’t sure about how scaling gear rewards could work outside of dungeons, but world quests could very easily reward old currencies no problem. Like the BC example, world quests could reward marks of sargeras / fel armament for aldor rep

Also, I think the world quests should only exist for that timewalking week and should go away when the even expires. It’s supposed to be a temporary incentive to revisit past content.

Agreed wish we can have more immersive timewalking events. The question is will Blizz ever add them?

Blizzard seems to have trouble with schedule and falling behind right now, this might be a bandaid fix for a future content drought. shrug

Totally agree. I thought this would be how it would work, but when I zoned my mage into TBC, I found out I had already done everything :frowning:

I mean, I suppose they can remove the rep but golly cant have people getting 10+year old items a tad faster now can we?

Don’t be racist.

How much faster can you be than going around one-shotting everything in regular time? I hit mobs for a million damage. Timewalking would make it slower and more reasonable.

Grinding rep and items from dungeons is actually faster in regular mode than timewalking. I do timewalking for the RP fun.

Yes, but once the quest is done you have to go grind. Resetting the quests to me would suggest it resets it fully. Items/rep included. Being able to play through the quests again some of them would give enough to get into another ranking of rep.

And not like at level 30 I was struggling with killing mobs.

Anyways I was just commenting on a player was concerned with getting rep again. So many players are just policing for blizzard when it comes to things that should be a no brainer

TW should extend to more raids and zones as well I agree with that. But it is more work so I wouldn’t hold my breath for blizzard doing that. Especially since it is working with old content.

I love this idea. Should breathe life back into empty zones.
