Let us do cross-server crafting orders

I’m really bummed that we still cannot do cross-server crafting orders even with cross-realm trading enabled and the introduction of Warbands.

I have all my Alliance toons on one server, and all my Horde toons on another. :slightly_frowning_face:

Can we please have this feature enabled?

Sounds like you want a single player game

You do realize almost the entire game is cross realm right?

What I want is a game that properly rewards the effort I put into my professions by allowing me to craft for any of my toons. I don’t care that you are scared you will miss out on crafting order transactions from people who put in the effort to craft for themselves.

I’m not scared of anything, it’s a game dude.
Just funny the complaint is not being able to 100% solo the entire experience.

I sell mats on the AH, complete crafting orders for others, play M+ and raid but I’m a dirty solo player for wanting the crafting order system to align with the rest of the cross-realm features in this game. Right.

You’re way too aggro over this.
No one insulted. What’s with the victim complex?

You can do guild work orders with people across servers, not exactly what you’d want but technically possible.

This. I’d be happy with allowing horde and alliance players being allowed to talk to each other in trade chat. Would make finding crafters and crafting customers much easier, or at least allow us to whisper each other in case something needs to be recrafted.

I agree with OP.

I can group and raid with cross-server and cross-faction friends.
My alts can share mats and everything else cross server and cross faction.
Why can my alliance BS on Nesingwary not use her skills to make the good armor for my horde DK on Runetotem?

I don’t want to have to abandon my guilds on either character in order to do this. I’ve been in those guilds since long before cross-anything was a thing, and I value the friendships I have in both places. And it shouldn’t be necessary either, because obviously it’s possible to have cross-server crafting orders apply to warbands (or to everyone) and not just to guild mates. Blizzard has just chosen not to enable it.

This is not the first time it has felt like Blizz gives us something but then slaps us when we reach out to take it.
I really wish they would just give us the thing and let us enjoy it without placing arbitrary restrictions on how we’re allowed to use it.

So there are no technical limitations preventing the devs from turning this on for the internal economy of a warband?

That we know off no. But we know little of how the game works. Maybe it’s not even technical.

While I agree with this conceptually (because I don’t know a thing about the behind-the-scenes working of the game)… logically, I would need someone to explain to me how it would be technically possible to allow cross-faction crafting within a guild, but not technically possible to allow it anywhere else, because it doesn’t make any sense.

What does make sense (in the context of “this has happened before” and not in the context of “this is a sensible or reasonable thing for anyone to do”) is that Blizzard makes arbitrary decisions about what players should or should not be allowed to do in the name of some vision they have of how the game should be played.

Do they get to do this? Sure, because they make the game. But since we are paying to play it, we also get to have an opinion about where they’ve drawn that line, and in this case, I think they’ve drawn it in a stupid place.

you can do cross-server crafting orders within your guild.

you can have anyone in your guild complete a crafting order for you (regardless of their realm)

This does not seem to be true as I have characters in the same guild but on different servers and it will not let me place orders to them.

When are they going to change this? It’s stupid, I thought the whole idea of warbands was so your characters on different servers could be connected. There was a rumor it would be put in later but looks like 11.0 is coming and still nothing to fix this

put it in “guild orders” then have your alts look into the guild orders…

no you cant send personal orders to alts on different realms in the same guild, has to be a guild order.

Crafters should be able to fulfill orders in cross-server AND cross-faction capacities, even OUTSIDE of a guild through PERSONAL Crafting Orders. We tested it today and it does work with ONLY connected servers.

This is yet another thing that hinders game play. Why give us the ability to play with cross-server and cross-faction players without removing ALL the limitations between them?

The inability to craft AND the inability to group up naturally or to solo queue is VERY frustrating!

It kind of sucks not being able to craft things for friends on other servers.

We have cross-server and cross-faction guilds now so it doesn’t really make any sense that you can’t do cross-server crafting.

I guess you can do it now if they’re in the same guild, but if you have friends in another guild you can’t? Weird.

I am a member of a small guild on an old RP server. I raid with people on another (non-RP) server. It would be nice to craft for my raid members and vice versa.

Too many hurdles to interface with the crafting system. Public orders should be able to specify minimum quality cross server or even ideally an npc should make items when you give them the mats. The current system is way too convoluted and unintuitive
