It’s literally on your back and visible the whole time. We don’t need to wildly exaggerate the issue, just say, “Using my weapon as a magical focus/conduit would be neat.”
It would be cool to see casters using their weapons when casting.
As it stands now, only the Shaman can do it whilst using the Fist of Ra’den transmog.
I always liked the combat animations in gw2. this is the Mesmer using the 2H sword and switching to staff mid-fight. The weapons are integral to combat animations there, even for casters.
The dumbest thing is that if I actually wield that fancy icy scythe us mages got, the point goes halfway through the floor. Guess it’s meant to be on the back only.
I just got off a few hours in ESO. My sorcerer shoots spells from his staff by pointing the head at his target, hits ground AOEs by slamming the bottom of his staff on the ground, some spells radiate from the staff, and he flings other spells from the staff like a sidehand throw. Very little casts directly from his hands, most of it comes from the weapon. It’s awesome. In WoW the staff is nothing but a stat stick glued to our backs. I is sad.
