We had bards for that one April Fools years ago.
Blizzard would never implement bards in a way that’d make people who want bards happy.
They’d just be a regular caster reskinned to use sound instead of water or whatever.

I know everyone’s losing their minds about this rn but have u ever tried FFXIV Bard
Personally, and this is just how I feel, I don’t think Blizzard has plans for another class again either at all or for a very, very long time. I think they are using these various systems such as covenants to simulate things like another class as opposed to spending the time and resources on making a completely new one.
I just picture some bards walking up to the enemy with their instruments in total slow motion heroic style and then getting peppered full of arrows. 
“I shall play you the song of my people!”

TBH it feels like Monk and DK were the only intended classes to actually have been added.
DH was a “break glass in case of emergency” situation, which is why they only have two specs and half the abilities of other classes.
We had pandas as an April fools joke too 
Make Bards a ranged class. Blast some Van Halen from range.

why not? If next expansion is related to music. I don’t see blizzard adding the class if there’s no connection between the expansion and the class.
