When you try to mount in waist deep water with the random mount, it wont let you because it is trying to select a swimming mount.
Yes, correct. When you try to mount it now automatically selects the water mount, even if you’re just cooling off your ankles. It says something along the lines of, “Cannot use mount unless underwater.” It’s a “hotfix” that doesn’t need to exist. It was perfectly fine before when it would auto mount you on the swimming one when you were actually underwater already. It didn’t need some special handicap protection. It prioritizes it over mounts that are waterwalking. I’m just a little salty from the lackluster that 8.2 has shone upon us and this made me crazy.
If only they had some way of testing this or a way for them to receive feedback. Oh well. Small indie developers have to start somewhere.

I noticed this too. It did not happen in the PTR when I was testing mounting large ground mounts and jumping on top of the water (that was broken).
I guess a quick fix might be getting the thing that allows your under water mounts to be used out of water (but they will not walk on water because they are exempt from use of the mount equipment
It isn’t just waist deep water. It seems if I have a toe in the water it tries to select an underwater mount.
Also because I have the sea turtle and the riding turtle, it selects those if I am standing in water. I want to charge off to my next objective and then suddenly realise that I am going at a snail’s pace.
I tried google translate, it just gave up.
Yea I don’t know why they changed this. I’ve had to remove the random mount button since it’s now basically broken because of this. So annoying. You can also crash the game if you try to spam it enough.
