Let Alliance play Shamans?

play horde?

they already are, fotm kiddies abandoning their streamer server to play shamans

Evidently a lot of people don’t 1) understand the history of WoW and 2) the nature of Classic.

In vanilla WoW, shamans were Horde and Paladins were Alliance. Period. End of whine.

If you want to play that combination, there’s Wrath Classic. Oh but then you won’t have SoD…

The fact they are using the base game is exactly why they cant do this.

Its not as simple as a check box lol. Theyve already stated its not within scope for SoD to add shaman to alliance and paladin to horde.

They would need their own client off 1.15 to accomplish that goal.

dwarf

shamans

Let’s go, make it happen baby

Revisiting this to say you are stupid

Getting hit for 3700 from ice lance all the time and now mages and go through pally bubble. Pvp on SOD is worthless for alliance.

They should have made sod based on TBC azeroth with blood elves and draenai, and just turned off the dark portal.

I agree, it’s the best way to add them, just add Azuremyst, Bloodmyst isle and The Exodar, Eversong Woods, Ghostland and Silvermoon City, then leveling takes you back to the original zones and quests.

Thats it, bam we got 2 new races easily implemented into SoD.

This is the correct answer, along with Cata.

orc shaman literally the #1 race and #1 class

and we are talking with hunters and boomkins still being dps gods

They would have to flesh out all the quest lines or it would be a buggy mess I feel like. But troll druid would be dope.

Its SoD they could have just given alliance the Air totem quest treatment. They gave up if you have never done it. The 3 others have you talking to elements, wandering around the world. but the air totem is talk to some Tauren outside ratchet and they just give it to you, no epic quest or anything.

They could have just done that for all the totems for alliance. talk to the trainer get the totem. there is no need for a grand time waste if you dont need there to be one.

I’d be fine with Blood Elves. But Draenei, as they appear now, hard ‘nope’. Though, if they used the Broken model (and made a female version based off the depictions in Hearthstone) then, heck ya.

But that’s a lot of extra work…

All we need are:

Dwarf Shamans and Forsaken Paladins.

Start them at lvl 40 in an instanced version of Hinterlands and WPL, and have them level to 50 much like how DKs started at like lvl 55 and by the time you left their starter zone you’d be ~57.

Everytime I see this thread title I always think of that dumb song

“Let the :boy:t3:s say :ninja:

I do think if you want to make a horde toon and play shaman you should be able to.

Your right its not classic its expanded Vanilla content meant for you to DISCOVER to shake up a solved game. (Thats DIRECTLY from the announcement speech of SOD at blizzcon.)… the devs themselfs all said this since day number 1.

Also the level cap is still the same at level 60? (why did you say its changed?) we havnt gotten any new raids, just EXPANED UPON re-worked raids. The new raids (that are hopefully comming)/dungeons/zones are… i cant stress this enough… all based upon EXISTING/ UNFINISHED / UNRLEASED * VANILLA * CONTENT. Some of the runes are abilities from other expansions but thats where any similiarities stop. Talents are all based on vanilla with some slight tweaks to numbers or affixes. Abilites are teh same as vanilla with small number changes. Same with gear. BG’s are still the same. Honor/ranking system is still the same. Quests are all based around vanilla characters. its all vanilla man.

His answer is perfectly fine just play retail… i See alot of you have retail characters and want to see ALOT of things that are in retail in the classic version. But there is a alot of reasons why the two versions stand apart. Races/classes are part of it im sorry.

I’m not against this either, be cool and unique twist but what I was trying to get at is it’s not difficult adding those 2 races into SoD without all the other TBC content involving Outland.

Its WAY more difficult then what you understand. Silvermoon city/Eversong woods All of those assets look so far removed from vanilla. (which is the version we are in.)(and they would need to add in these locations to make blood elves understandable for vanilla.) They would have to rework all the models and textures for the zones. And im not even starting with the story reworks they would have to go through. But I do think giving these locations back to azeroth would be REALLY COOL though and it would stay in line with the teams original goal of world discovery.

But As a ex-3d modeler/ texture artist i really dont think you understand how much time this would take.

There’s too many zone files changes that impact ‘old’ Azeroth. Which means Era/HC would also be impacted. - And they already had a meltdown when class restrictions were removed on the PVP gear (think it was the AB rep gear).

Which means they’d need to hack up TBC and import only the Blood Elf and Draenei zones, while leaving out the updates to Karazhan local, Dustwallow Marsh, Auberdine (extra boat to Exodar), the professions revamp (bunch of common-grade crafts changed to uncommon-grade), restructuring of the potion system (Battle/Guardian elixirs), class changes, host of other changes I’m forgetting atm.

Way more involved than it’s worth. It could be done, but they’d essentially have to start from scratch; it’d be faster than trying to ‘make it work’ with the existing code.
