Agree with OP 100%.
The whole cleanse distribution thing was obviously not thought off for Mythic +. And Blizzard, as usual, instead of changing the outlier to fit it with the rest of the game, they change the rest of the game to fit it with the outlier.
I like that idea, I’ll start stripping the trees in Mechagon shortly!
While I loath homogenized aspects in the game, I actually agree with this.
More times than not, its just annoying needing a particular healer for a certain dispel.
and I feel like you’re basically trying to create justification for something that doesn’t make sense simply because you want it.
Lore wise it doesn’t make sense that healers who specialize in different kinds of magic can “just teach each other”, and mechanics wise it takes away variety and just further homogenizes things in a game already suffering from too much of it already.
You’re acting like because it’s not literally turning a Shaman into a Paladin that it’s “not that bad” but it all adds up.
Like I said: We need less homogenization, not more of it.
You claim there is no distinction for magic but guess what the 2 classes that you said can only remove 2 things can do?
They can both purge enemies of beneficial magic. That’s what I meant by offensive magic.
Every healer gets 3 things they can remove.
Where are you from that mages play frost in pvp?
Also, yeah, I avoid Fortified Siege like the plague because of the stacking poison debuff. Have to Spirit link one pack and tell the tank to pretend it’s necrotic for the other one.
Is this the poison from the rogues? It’s nice being able to to cleanse that as paladin tank, or spellwarding someone else.
Yeah it’s silly that some healers can’t dispel certain things and it’s meant to be flavour but it is just irritating more than anything. No I don’t want even more things homogenised because Brainheal the shammy can’t dispel a Disease.
The ones before Hadal, yep.
I’m sorry I just don’t agree.
There are some things that should be baseline across a role.
All the healers have their own ways with dealing with threats through CC, CDs, and how their healing interacts with the party.
But all healers should be able to cleanse all cleansable debuffs.
You’re leaning excessively heavy on the comment I made about healers teaching each other. It doesn’t -have- to be healers teaching each other, it was an example. Not a demand that it had to be done that way.
There is such a thing as “homogenization” being good in certain areas. Players treat it like a dirty bloody idea because blizzard went too far with it with classes as a whole, and now seem to react to it like it’s the bloody freaking devil, even when there are cases it makes perfect sense.
Every healer can handle 3 types of Dispel. All of them can do Magic and then they get 2 more between Disease, Curse, Poison and an Offensive Dispel.
It’s balanced.
As long as you’re fine with every healer getting purge.
It makes zero sense that shamans cannot cleanse poisons or disease, especially after 6 years of being able to do so.
You viewing it as balanced doesn’t matter to me, because it’ll all be balanced if everyone has the ability to cleanse it all.
And yes. I am 100% fine with every healer getting purge or a mass dispel.
Priests and shamans can dispel beneficial magic effects off enemies. That’s what they mean, and it’s pretty useful.
I’m with the OP. Either remove/drastically reduce the cooldown on dispells, or make every healer able to dispell all debuffs.
Repeating this line isn’t going to do much if you’re not going to bother with why this would be good for the game.
and repeating the whole “but it makes sense to me” isn’t a why. At the end of the day Blizzard can make lore whatever they want. They can say “magic doesn’t work that way” and it doesn’t work that way.
There are cases where it’s warranted but this isn’t one of them. Healers don’t have problems functioning when they can’t dispel everything. They all get a dispel ability, it just can’t do everything.
This isn’t like Prot Paladins needing a taunt back in TBC because tanks simply can’t function properly without one.
Not to mention even if you are “100% fine” with it, every healer having purge would have massive ramifications in PvP.
and saying “I don’t care, give it to me” doesn’t make your argument sound resonable.
You are assuming that healers cleanse to begin with… MANY healers I’ve partied with never cleanse, and when you have a DPS class that COULD cleanse something, that is a definite heck no.
This is called “homogenization”. Please stop.
MoP Resto Druid… /swoon
With Symbiosis, not only could I cleanse everything I have two separate cleanses that could remove some of the same stuff so less cooldown! Really nice in ToT for cleansing poisons with both Nature’s Cure and Cleanse (Paladin spell borrowed from Symbiosis).
