Since Shadowlands I’ve been seeing elements of suggestions of Jaina becoming the next “Guardian” in place of Medivh and later Khadgar.
Preemptively I’ll just say: Can we please not?
Here’s my argument:
She doesn’t fit the bill of what a guardian should even be and doesn’t have the best track record. She’d honestly fail any psych evaluation for any actual role of importance.
First let’s put aside her having a roller coaster of emotional uncertainty in life, both in her roles and love life,
And we will put aside her being trigger-happy/genocidal when she loses her temper…
And hey we will even put aside the fact she would have preferred the bigger chance of the world burning rather than working with those she disagrees with…which goes against what being a Guardian even is.
Can’t we just leave “Aunty” Jaina to Alliance story points and potential other avenues? She already held more than enough important roles in life (though admittedly for short lengths as she can’t keep a single job down…) than most humans can dream of, and is the current ruler of Kul’Tiras as is.
Frankly does Azeroth even need a new Guardian? If anything we are doing the job a hell of a lot better.
Fun fact. It is canon that the human leadership in SW acknowledged that if the Gnolls (like Hogger) were ever to get smart and organized, they would have wiped out SW long ago.
Just from flavor text in things like HoTS and other games it’s clear that Jaina is intended to become the next guardian, or some other form of S tier caster.
At least it’s not Medan…
Plus we’ll be able to kill her once her next ‘crazy woman Blizzard Writing’ arc goes through…
I like how having your entire city wiped out of the map with a bunch of friends in it while being betrayed by an organization that literally raised you all the while you were the only voice of reason and quite literally step between the 2 super power nations to deescalate the situation, when that happen and you seek revenge people just go wow you are so trigger happy and a genocidal.
I hate dumb people
The Love and support of a family now doesn’t erase…mentality. The way she behaves and reacts to things is temperamental. That won’t just go away.
And Khadgar in SL already said he is getting old and implied retiring when he was speaking with Jaina.
Responding to loss with violence, irrationality and murder is the norm? Must be interesting where you come from.
That being said, though I see you seem to care deeply about this fictional character, the point stands that her actions makes little logical sense for her story to go in that direction.
Dude jaina would have passed every psych evaluation. She was rigthfully pissed off they nuke her town, she was rigth fully mad.
Jaina was never crazy, also, she had all the rigth to be. Varian always did the same crap and people was just ‘ohhhhh he fougjt with garrosh dude is great’.
Nah fam, jaina is fine and can be a good guarsian, al tough i would prefer that for once, one important position in thiz game isnt occupied by a human
If we were talking about the Jaina from early BFA or mists I’d be absolutely opposed since the simple fact is that she couldn’t be trusted with the objective responsibility of the guardian, but by the end of the latter expansion she was just… tired of the endless bickering between the horde and the alliance.
This is correct. Khadgar did indeed turn it down and believes no one should fight alone in that darkness. There hasn’t been a new Guardian. There probably won’t be.
This post is that weird thing where GD posters make something up and then get upset about it.
Except you haven’t, because that’s just your own head canon.
Also Khadgar isn’t a guardian.
Also Also, I’m pretty sure there’s this whole thing about there being no more guardians.
