Honestly, why does Enhancement Shaman not have access to Primal Elementalist? It’s an important talent. Summoning Elementals are core to the shaman fantasy, yet they don’t really have ways to interact with them.
Of course this would mean giving them Fire Elemental as well, but I imagine most would be okay with that. Elementals is Shaman’s whole shtick, and I’m sure most would rather play into the Elemental fantasy of Shaman, rather than the Frostwolf orc fantasy
I’m not a troll, you are.
You’ll note though that my complaints follow a theme: That I want more elements in shaman and less orc.
While fair, the problem is that being the Guide and agent of the Elements is the wholw point of the class. All this Wolf motif in Shaman is completely unrelated except if you’re specifically from Thrall’s orc tribe.
I’m all for Enhancement doing Enhancing things, but why use Wolf motifs when you can use Shamans?
That mostly comes from the lack of race identity for each various Race/Class combos.
The fact Tauren Paladin uses the same spells as Human ones for example make no sense either.
But Blizzard can’t really fix that, as one it would be a lot of visual work for not that much payoff and two it would interfere with the game’s visual cohesion.
They probably want people to instantly be able to recognize the fact they’re fighting an Enhance Shaman in PvP for example.
I believe Enh did have Fire Elemental at one point. They should have a Storm Elemental to be a polar opposite like Ele has Fire. The Storm Ele can give maelstrom procs and maybe some haste?
They’re spirit wolves. Spirits are also a big part of shamanism. It has nothing to do with an orcish clan just because they also are associated with wolves.
Enhance uses power from the elements in every ability they have. They just don’t directly summon elementals.
Tauren paladins are especially egregious, but it’s not like you can be confused by what kind of Shaman you’re fighting when they throw an Earth Elemental at you and are trying to smack you themselves instead of wizarding from a mile away.
I really do think that while the presentation could be changed up, shamans should lean into that loop.
Storm Elemental is a talent on Elemental shaman that replaces Fire Elemental. It provides Maelstrom on attack I believe.
It’s alao on a different row from Primal Elementalist, so you can take both and have a Primal Storm Elemental.
The Wolf part is very much the Frostwolf clan part of shaman. Orcs are the only race with any real connection to them (hence why they gave trolls Raptor glyphs). I do know about the Spirit thing, but can we get something that’s more race neutral and move the wolf versions to glyphs as well?
And throw in a few more glyphs for the other races as well later down the line.
Every time I have a complaint, this is the answer. It’s actually getting funny in a disappointing sorry of way.
Of course it is for the Frostwolf. Everything about them is closely tied to wolves, thus the name.
There are several quests for other races throughout the game where you summon spirit animals, and all the ones I can think of are wolves, and not sure if any of them are orc quests.
Most of the set and offset animal themes shaman can wear are wolf themed. It’s first and foremost a shaman theme in WoW.
We had a lot of things before Legion. The game is constantly changing.
I actually can’t think of any save the newest one on noob island that also made me roll my eyes. I honestly wish that all the spirits we talked to as shamans used the Ascendance models.
I wish some things would change back. Primal Elementalist would help make Enh slightly less squishy out in the world and Fire Elemental would just be nice.
Yes, please give me more Elementals. Give Resto a Water Elemental for healing. Turn the Ghost wolves into little Elemental “sparks.”
Turn the Spirit wolf form into a swirling wind elemental form.
And then just give people who liked the old way better a bunch of Sigils or something.
