About Soul Ash, I wanted to play some alt and craft some legendary for my other spec but the cost of soul ash is way too high. I dont like doing Thorgast at all, not because its difficult, its not. It just take me time away from what I really enjoy from the game, doing arena, mythic and raid.
Please, once you crafted a legendary item, reduce the cost for other part and even more, on other toon too!
I don’t think the Soul Ash cost is too high. However the base “vessel” items for a Rank 3 or Rank 4 seem pretty stiff–guess that’s just start-of-expansion price trends and that they’ll come down over time but that seems a much higher barrier than getting 1250 Soul Ash in a couple of hours over 2 weeks for a Rank 1 on an alt.
I do wish that they would not force an alt to progress through each layer one at a time… if I gear an alt before entering Torghast I should be able to jump right to Layer-N if my item level is sufficient for that layer. I guess they perceive that if I finish all my alts in 1/8th the time with such a change that’s a threat to revenues, so probably not going to happen.
Isn’t it lovely. I’m a solo player admittedly but I can do a run solo no biggies. I’m slow and careful so it works. But at the end I get 150 or so ash, I persevered cause I really did want to craft a legendary. So after the big collect for the Crafter I now have to go back and do it again cause he needed all I got for himself. Not what I call fun. I was never a farmer in WoW and now I feel forced to farm. YUCK!!
I don’t understand why they can’t have a soul ash cap in the same way they handle conquest points. Just let me play 20 hours in a day so I can play the game instead of waiting a month because I decided to craft the wrong legendary or I took a week off.
What on earth are you talking about? That first 1,250 counts towards a quest to make your first legendary, which you get to keep. If you only want one and never want to upgrade it, you never have to set foot in Torghast again.
Time-gating is very frustrating to those with 20 hr out of 24 hr to play every day. On the other hand it keeps those with only a few hours a week to be able to play from falling behind and being excluded from content because they couldn’t keep up (simply because they don’t have 20 hr/day to play).
I know it sucks for people with time on their hands, but Blizzard made a decision that retains them the most subscriptions and helps their profit margins most… seems unlikely to change as it’s well-justified (despite it’s unpopularity among a vocal minority).
I think the costs are reasonable as they stand right now, but I do think it would have been nice for the intro quest for the runecarver to give you the base 190 item and Soul Ash for it. Many of us are already wearing 225 or 235, and/or have multiple legendaries. I don’t think it would have broken the bank to let alts get the rank 1 version for a single legendary once.
