Less night-elf centric Goblin questline?

Hello! As you can see, I’m a low-level goblin warlock, but my main is a night elf druid that I cherish. Regarding my goblin, I’ve arrived in Ogrimmar and my primary quest line as a goblin is to headline forceful attacks on Azshara to push the night elves out and claim the territory for the Horde. Now, I’ve chosen to play Horde, so I don’t want to come off as just wanting something to complain about, but I don’t like murdering the night elves. I mean I’m okay with killing night elves, but not on such a large scale, especially not in that particular zone (I have found memories of Ashenvale, Darkshore, and Teldrassil from playing on my main). When I arrived in Ogrimmar and was inducted into the Horde, I got a bunch of other quests from other races that I assume are THEIR main quest lines, along with that, ik there’s some stuff in the Eastern Kingdoms and other regions of Kalimdor. What level 20-60 Horde quest lines are there that aren’t committing night-elf genocide, but still follow goblin lore/storyline? Along with that, ik things are changing with Shadowlands, so will there be a more favorable option in the pre-patch/will some options be removed? I have a level 120 elven mage friend so send me wherever.

Go to a Hero Call board and see if any of the quests being offered there are more palatable. But don’t forget: the Horde takes what it wants, and a bunch of simpering elves can try to stop it.

FOR THE HORDE!

(More seriously, the Horde is very often the aggressor in most quest scenarios. Rather unavoidable that you’ll be doing a bit of killing and pillaging. Of course, the Alliance kills-and-pillages right back given the opportunity, so if you insist on the moral high ground maybe you should only level in dungeons? At least the killing and pillaging is less contextual.)

Unfortunately, Azshara is the main zone for the Bligewater goblin storyline after the starting zone. Tanaris would be a good zone for you once you’re high enough level for it. You’ve got the goblins and gnomes competing for influence in Gadgetzan. There’s also a hub towards the end Felwood where Worgen are the main opponent, but it’s very much a goblins pillaging the land story there.

In general, if you want to avoid Night Elf slaughter, the Eastern Kingdoms is the safer bet. Silverpine Forest is a great lore zone for Sylvanas story so if you haven’t done the zone before, I’d recommend it given Sylvanas’s role in Shadowlands. Hillsbrad is another solid zone.

I don’t have a problem with killing and pillaging, I just have a soft spot for night elves and their starter zone (Darnassus/Darkshore/Ashenvale/etc), but I’m also a lore fan, so if its what you have to do as a goblin I’ll do it mildly unhappily. Do you have a specific quest line in mind…? If you don’t that’s fine, I don’t expect a quest line encyclopedia. But yeah thanks, I’ll make sure to check the hero’s call board out!

Also, just saw this as I was typing lol:

Thanks, I’ll definitely look into those areas too, less night elf slaughter=good for me!

From a lore perspective, the only land available for the Orcs was either desert or barrens. To build their homes, they needed access to lumber which led to conflict with the Night Elves who controlled the forests to the north and refused to share their abundant resources.

Night elves are literally trying to siege outside Orgrimmar, but I guess that’s us attacking them

Other than Bilgewater Harbor in Azhara, there are not very many Bilgewater-aligned goblin quest hubs in the leveling experience from 20 to 60. Thousand Needles, the zone preceding Tanaris, has Fizzle and Pozzik’s Speedbarge, where goblins and gnomes live together in friendly rivalry to race boats and skirmish with pirates. There is also Hardwrench Hideaway in the Cape of Stranglethorn, led by Sassy Hardwrench from the goblin starting zone, where the antagonists are mostly zombie trolls, naga, and the Venture Company.

There are a greater number of neutral Steamwheedle-aligned goblin quest hubs across both Kalimdor and the Eastern Kingdoms, listed below. I do not remember the neutral goblins ever fighting the night elves, so you should be able to quest through those with no problem.

Since there is not enough goblin content to get you all the way to 60, you will have to pick and choose other Horde zones and quest lines to level through. As posters above have said, the Eastern Kingdoms are a safe bet to avoid harming night elves in their homelands.

Bilgewater:

  • Bilgewater Harbor (Azhara) – harms night elves
  • Fizzle and Pozzik’s Speedbarge (Thousand Needles)
  • Hardwrench Hideaway (Cape of Stranglethorn)
  • Irontree Clearing (Felwood) – harms night elves
  • Nozzlepot’s Outpost (Northern Barrens)

Steamwheedle:

  • Booty Bay (Cape of Stranglethorn)
  • Everlook (Winterspring)
  • Fuselight (Badlands)
  • Gadgetzan (Tanaris)
  • Mudsprocket (Dustwallow Marsh)
  • Ratchet (Northern Barrens)
  • Sorrowmurk (Swamp of Sorrows)

Thank you this is really helpful . I’m definitely going to check out the Thousand Needles, the Speedbarge sounds like a lot of fun!
