I play a forsaken of pretty much every class and the ammount of viable abilities that I have to use in content has become overwhelming. I have all my numbers, a lot of numbers + CNTRL, a lot of numbers + ALT, pretty much all the buttons im willing to use on my keyboard dictated to a specific ability. There are so many toys, mount abilities, proffession abilities that the ones that aren’t linked to a keyboard are taking up every space possible as well. Im also big on toys so I have a whole 3 action bars dedicated to toys that I would be likely to use and even that’s not enough. There is not enough room. Classes have too many abilities. There’s not enough room to map them. Proffession requires slots, toys that you collect require space and it’s not enough space to fit once you get a sizable collection, some talents act as abilities and require space as well. I am tired of doing hand gymnastics everytime I have to cast some obscure warrior ability for a specific situation. We need less buttons.
Fewer* buttons.
Also no. Just take more passives.
be less viable for more hand gymnastics. no. it’s obvious a ton of abilites have a time and a place to be used, it is unreasonable to need to map 36 keys to be a viable player. I do not want to nerf myself, I want the game to be playable with a regular keyboard and regular mechanics.
???
Yeah, it’s the amount of buttons classes have, and definitely not your 3 action bars worth of toys that’s the issue.

There isn’t a single class/spec in the game that has 36 abilities to map lol.
Like, not a single one.
WoW has gone through trying to fix button bloat, only to end up back where we started. The new talent trees allow those who prefer less buttons to play that way with the class they want to play by providing an alternate passive node.
Another alternate solution includes playing with a gaming mouse that has multiple side buttons.
Don’t forget hearthstones, health pots/healthstone/mana buns, int pots, mana pots, phials, food, weapon runes etc that also take up space on everyone’s screens. M+ portals which inconveniently aren’t unified in one dropdown menu because they are from different expansions. Also any trinket you don’t macro in with a cd, the BIS weapon (should be macroed, oddly it is a cast that is off the gcd), engi rez. Ideally you have a comfortable bind for your mount or travel form (can be put together depending on your moving state in a macro for druids), clicking it every time you want to mount seems inconvenient.
All my toys are clickable, The issue is that I’m struggling to fit abilities onto my key presses. There is way too much stuff to fit on speciifc specs and specific classes. I have 0 toys assigned to any actual keyobard keys, the issue was I don’t even have enough space to toys to mouse to let alone useful abilities.
Why are you key binding professions and toys? I think we found your problem.
Can you give examples?
I also think things like Arcane Intellect, Power Word: Fortitude, Mark of the Wild, etc that should have 100% uptime have no reason not to auto-apply to everyone in pve. In pvp it makes sense because people can dispel these things, players are not dispelled in M+ and raid so it’s an unnecessary button. Just auto apply those buffs to every party/raid member in pve instances.
i am not keybinding toys. I have run out of all room on my action bars. the two issues are seperate
Passive buff or just get rid of them. I never wanted them back.
I dunno. I like being able to throw a buff on random passers-by. It’s like a tip of the hat.
Enhancement shaman weapon buffs should be passive though. My god what a waste it was to make them castable again. You don’t even have to choose which weapon they apply to anymore. It’s just tedious.
Minor warm fuzzy moment doesn’t overshadow the rest of the annoyance for me, though. lol
I think a fair compromise is keep the button but also auto-apply them to every raid/party member in every pve instance. So you can still bind it if you want to buff strangers, and for pvpers it is the same as now, and you don’t need to bind it if you only pve. I would say it would also be fine to auto-apply the first time in pvp (before the match starts) when people would always use it anyway, and then only bind it for re-application.
if a buff is the breaking point of too many buttons, we have to come to the realziation that there are just too many buttons. 16 alt 1-6 contril 1-6 isn’t enough for our classes to play fluidly. we need less buttons.
