We gunna have time gating and you can’t just max out a piece of gear you get
Guess they didn’t like how fast people were blasting stuff last time

fun was detected and daddy blizzard said no
Without time gating people could breeze through all the material then have several months to complain how there is nothing to do. The devs are cruel for not letting us do that. They should know how much we love to complain.
Yea remember how it took weeks to earn enough currency to buy everything?
Now they’re gunna make it take longer cuz you can’t farm every raid each day
Good bait attempt I guess
The devs said something a while back about how they’re bringing M+ to remix because they want to see how players blast through the dungeons like they did in MoP remix. I guess they changed their minds…
Then how is it possible for the RWF teams to play the raids over and over each day?
MoP remix was also extremely timegated, it was just disguised as grinding and they broke the balance of the game letting the froggers get ahead early on before shutting everyone else out.
I’ll take a less stupid timegate over a more stupid one. Though my fear is that they try to do both.
Yeah, they basically looked at MoP Remix, saw how successful it was and said “Nah, we’re not doing any of that”.
What are you even trying to communicate here?
If I recall correctly did MoP remix have hard timegate at the start before they swung the pendulum in the other direction?
The only real timegates were self-inflicted, aside from the daily raid lockouts. You could grind as much as you wanted. They just made it extra grindy at the start before acting on feedback.
Raiding above LFR was on a daily lockout. That was it.
All I see is that gear will drop (versus being upgraded with the same currency used for cosmetics), the max ilevel will increase over the event (so hard gated, but the costs soft gated MoP remix gear), and higher chance for upgrades from harder content.
So what was the wrong lesson learned?
Don’t share currency for power with currency for cosmetics - because it appears they did learn that lesson.
And if they are too aggressive with gating ilevel increases at start, players will just wait to play until the ilevel goes up, which does seem a bit dumb - but I guess it also depends on how much power comes from gear versus how much from the artifact and other systems.
MoP Remix had a lot of power tied to the gems socked into gear which scaled on ilevel which made high ilevel gear very important to power - looks like power is going to be more tied to the artifact system this time.
I’m sure there are plenty of systems in place to allow people to progress faster than usual but you’re not gonna make it to level 85 in the first 15 minutes.
Well I hope leveling is not too slow cause by their wording “Fel-infused class mounts” we may have to level one of each class to get all the class mounts.
Apparently there are a lot of new options and open world moments where you can actually stack things and then come back to them later and push just as fast. They just didn’t want to re-release the exact same thing that happened with MOP and bore people. So it’s new and it’s fresh and it should be a lot of fun.
ooooor, maybe they DO know how much we love to complain, and so they implemented time gating specifically to give us something to complain about!!!
You can’t farm the raid every day.
RFW teams do splits and farm raids many times a day.
Why?
That’s not obvious?
Who wants to buy everything? When you go into a store do you feel you have to buy everything?
I only buy what I want and it doesn’t come close to everything.
They ‘took a page out of classic’ for an already limited event. I do somewhat ‘get it’ as far as limits being increased by the time Antorus comes out but this’ll limit participation for the start.
On the flip side I guess peeps who are around for all of it will get all the raids done for sure. Everyone participating will be in the same ones.
