While I don’t personally play or have an interest in Evoker aside from the one I leveled to cap just to “have” it… Everything I hear come out about Lemix feels like a downgrade from the MoP Remix experience.
My biggest problem is that MoP Remix worked and was fun NOT because it was just MoP but because it was about gaining power as fast and absurdly as possible. Part of that was the fact that once you got a good tier of gear quality then it was just upgrading it over and over and over to absurd numbers. The experience was about being overpowered in an expansion that wasn’t designed for it without out leveling it. Being able to gain so much power you could do things you normally were not able to.
Legion Remix on the other hand has announced its gearing system is more traditional with no longer upgrading gear but doing traditional drops…
So how is this like MoP remix anymore? The whole fun was the upgrade system and now this just sounds like the most fun part of the first remix was killed.
Not to mention that unlike with MoP Remix, they also announced that the content, of an old expansion, is going to be time gated with release phases instead of something you can work on at your own pace. So basically when Ion said “We have been bad about timegating recently” that was just total BS because everything since that statement has been time gated.
On top of that, Demon Hunters and Evokers, classes not in MoP originally, were in remix. Now imagine being told if you do main Evoker “Yeah, you can’t play your favorite class, lololol!” They don’t need to have a whole new order hall! Just make them some weapon skins, a few mounts, call it a day and let those players enjoy. Evokers are already the laziest class visually because they don’t display hardly any armor as is. Are weapons and mounts really too much work Blizzard?
This whole thing feels like they got lazy with the idea of Remix and instead of doing it properly are trying to rush something out.
I am so tired of Blizzard being Blizzard at this point, blargh…
But that is the problem in itself. “You can no longer upgrade with bronze”
You say “Upgrades are going to be thrown at us” then since you know the system perfectly, why don’t you break down HOW you are getting said upgrades. Because I can tell you how. Its going to be normal progression based solely on how they pitched it…
With the original system you could do lower level stuff and constantly upgrade your gear. I guarantee that now you are going to be expected to grind things like M+ to go up in power since its 100% drop based instead of upgrade based.
This is exactly what I am getting at! I 100% believe they are basically going to push the idea of “Push M+” for higher gear drops. They explained ZERO details of how drops work aside from they are drops.
Knowing Blizzard its not going to be “Grats, you killed a rare elite, you have a chance to get the highest piece of gear possible!”
This 100% feels like a way to draw the content out longer by taking a grind anyone could do and turning it into what they just pitched. Paired with content being time gated unlike MoP, I believe they are doing this to artificially extend the life of the content at the expense of what made MoP Remix great.
Right? I swear I never heard a single person complain about it… And bronze was so plentiful that its not like you didn’t ever have enough to get all the cosmetics you wanted.
Was also nice cuz it let you sort of decide how much work you were going to do
Could get your gear slightly them and just focus cosmetics over the duration, or max that stuff out asap ignoring all cosmetics so you’d get the fastest bang for your buck
Yeah you know what remix needed, time gated content. If people didn’t develop an addiction to wow 15 years ago this franchise would be dead. Terrible decisions for years, every YouTuber being paid to promote releases for years says “this expansion isn’t good, but it’s better than the last one.”
I do not remember, but I want to say that when Mop Remix launched it was a pretty slow process until the outcry from players over the use of hyperspawn farming frogs to powerlevel cloaks and to use the broze to level up gear.
Then Blizzard turned the volume up to 12 for everything which in turn spead things up a lot. So, maybe the developers plans at first was to have the process be much slower, but were then forced to increase everything to offset players being upset.
Now, with Legion Remix, the plan going forward is to limit things and space things out, which was probably what was intedned for the other remix, but didn’t quite go that way.
I have no plans on playing Legion Remix right away, I plan on waiting till everything is opened up before I switch over.
If yall dont like time gates, just wait a bit. In the WoWcast that nobody watched, apparently, they said there will be a full month to enjoy the entirety of Legion.
Eh, expecting them to develop an entire other class campaign just for a sideshow like this really undersells the effort that went into (some) of those campaigns.
It also says harder content has a higher chance of dropping upgrades. They don’t really go into any details about what your chances are with each type of content.
