I like this change. it opens up alot more ways to activate your set bonus… now with legs in the mix. that gives us 6 dom sockets. does that mean we can activate two bonuses? maybe im miss reading it… but it feels like… that could be a thing…
P.S. Please add the set bonuses to m+ 
i know it would make us stronger… but its during a maw type event which makes since for us too add socket bonuses there maybe
At first they’d be disabling the Blood Set for Chest but I read it again and it is still a good news…

i think having to bonuses would be op… but at the same time… it would give everyone an oppertunity to use unholy/Blood or frost
That’s a good question. The statement “Please note, there is no benefit from having the activation spell twice.” makes me think no…but I’m not sure which one would get activated.
Please don’t, I enjoy not having to worry about my raid progress or an additional layer of RNG to do well at M+

It’s a bit confusing, but I don’t think they’re actually adding sockets to them. I think they’re just going to be adding the “equip 3 sockets of X type to activate Y ability” to leg pieces from the raid.

If you do not have a chest piece/shoulder/head but have 3 sockets of the same type, the legs will activate the set bonus as well

No. It said the legs can ACTIVATE THE BONUS … BUT IT DOES NOT HAVE A SOCKET.
That is just WoWhead guessing. Nowhere in the actual blue post does it say that pants will not have a dom socket, nor does it say that they will. You will still need to get pants from SoD to get that bonus if you haven’t got the original piece that gave it though (so for plate that is shoulders, as shoulders give the frost bonus). So one can assume that blizz will attach a dom socket to it. however it is doubtful as that could mean you can have 2 set bonuses in SoD, Torghast and the maw / korthia if you get all 6 pieces. So for balance reasons I can see that not happening
The bonus you get is pre-determined. The pants are not an universal set item. The blue post says which bonus the pants will give. Because of that, the other two dom socket slots will also give a pre-determined set bonus
