I just came back to wow in may. I’ve played the game since TBC. I’ve been having fun for the most part but as a 2.4K exp arena player I cannot push rating. When you get to 2k in arena literally everyone you fight is a 2700 arena player. Why is this happening? It makes the game really unfun to fight 2700 players at 2k and I can’t push any rating let alone upgrade my gear. Anyone else notice this or am I crazy? Very strange…

Rank ones this season on full geared Alts main comp is the real problem but they will go up fast.
Sometimes just taking the L while your playing your best is all you can do.
So you’re saying all these gladiators at 2k aren’t gladiator? Seems kinda odd and weird
I’m saying that if they’re floating around 2k then they either haven’t made gladiator this season, are playing with a friend or are on an alt. Usually some combination.
Like, you aren’t queuing into 3 current season 2700 players in full gear playing their actual comp on a regular basis.
How so?
i mean… you gain rating by beating better players… fighting 2700s (how do u think they feel vs r1s) is obviously hard (not to mention they’re probably not playing main team 3s @ 2k), but at the point of being a glad player you should be able to recognize where you messed up; they’re not doing anything outside of the confines of their character.
Actually just qued 2s and faced someone who’s currently 2700 in 3s so he’s in better gear and everything so yeah it’s very weird and strange. Game seems very unfriendly for new players when everyone at 1800-2k has glad mounts

Look, sometimes you get a “yo setup my alt” from one of your healers and don’t want them to leave you.
Yeah it wasn’t alts when his partner was also 2400 in 3s… not the first time I’ve seen this either. Games super unfriendly for new players if everyone is apparently a glad. Idk if people are buying a carry or what is going on but the games never been like this

I feel your pain OP. I am sick and tired of seeing the unattainable glad mounts running at me in every bracket of arena from 1400 up to 2200. Getting crushed by 2700 or higher 3s players in 2v2 when your just trying to gear your 2nd (or 7th) toon is infuriating. They are just selling carries or carrying twitch viewers 10 hours a day. Just look at pikaboo’s 17,000+ 2v2 games last season as an example. If we only had to verse similar experienced players maybe 2400 would be attainable but now it’s completely gatekeeped by boosters and rank 1s.

Yah it’s kind of toxic. Best thing to do is just unsub until next xpac when there is gear equalization. This will reduce boosting to almost nothing. Will there still be boosting? Yeah but not at low ratings. Mostly for Glad or Rank 1 which shouldnt effect the casuals.
Or just get duelist at which point gear is equal.
Depends on how good the elite sets are.
Pika still gonna play 20,000 games a season at 1600 for his viewers, etc.
