Just a thought i had…With the Mage tower returned, and players going after the mount, achievements, and armor sets…why not just add the weapons back in? At the very least the base appearances. Players, many many of them, have been asking for these to make a return somehow and this would be the perfect opportunity to kinda smooth them back in.
During the legion time walking week, players will be able to return to the Mage Tower and get those weapon appearances again.
While I don’t disagree, you’re going to get several people and their sock puppets telling you that you do not need them because you don’t need them.
Because the mage tower weapon appearances are considered skill-based rewards, and so far they have kept skill-based rewards unavailable to those that didn’t earn them when they were current.
Although it seems likely that they are going to break that seal soon, so you might get your request eventually after all.
From the title I thought you meant having them on the vendor or something. But yeah, I really like this idea. All the time you want to practice outside of timewalking week. You could spin some fun lore behind it as well. Like woah, timey wimey magic has sent us back to the legion times, when those appearances were available! Crazy!

So there’s four other appearances that you could get right now.
I say just toss them on the Trading Post and be done with it… avoids these threads… the threads that it’s too hard… just leaves us the outrage threads about why they shouldn’t come back. I feel like that’s the best worst option…
That’s the worst option. If they bring them back you should have to at least demonstrate some amount of skill to get them like we did back in Legion.

I have done Balance of power on 4-5 toons. They just made it an account wide achievement. So thank goodness i don’t have to do more.

Was literally free at the end of the xpac cuz it didn’t scale up at all so the massive gear difference removed the majority of skill requirements

Being geared actually made the healer challenge harder because the boss scaled with you lol

It’s a bad thought, to be honest. Time sensitive means time sensitive. This subject has been put to bed. The originals aren’t coming back.
I don’t remember exactly, I think the last boss’s damage scaled with your hp or something.
Anyways, that being said, just because a few were gimmes (looking at you Agatha) doesn’t mean that people weren’t trying hard to complete the challenges right up until they were removed. Not everyone had access to full Antorus gear to steamroll it.

I got the druid stuff done using the bfa preorder level boostz got like a few lfr pieces and just blew up the cat/bear challenges
So i may be a bit biased on how free they were, cuz it felt real free to play a class for the first time for under a week and get both done lol
But why is it a bad though? and clearly it hasn’t. I see many posts about this, i was simply coming up with another option to re-introduce these appearances.
I myself already have done a few classes mage towers back in legion, but due to real life constraints and changes, i wasn’t able to fully push more specs.
I simply would like another run at them.

Because they very explicitly said they weren’t coming back. If they go back on that now it’ll remove time-limited rewards as a structure entirely because we’ll never believe them again. They don’t want to do that, and I personally don’t want them to either because I like the motivation that something being limited provides.
Ask for new rewards for new challenges, or even a re-color, so that everyone has something to work toward. What’s gone should stay gone.
You do the bear challenge normally or do the grease go balance affinity and just nuke for the first while to ignore most things
