Mounts available for purchase from the vendor in legion remix should only be completely new models and recolors.
If blizzard puts the rare raid and dungeon drop mounts on the legion remix vendors, it will make people not want to farm those mounts, essentially removing content from the game.
This also goes for all future remixes. Why would people want to bother farming the mythic jailer mount when they can just it from a vendor in shadowlands remix.
Many people say things like “items and collectibles should never be removed from the game.” But these rare mounts are still in the game.
Also people say “if something is added back to the game, it should be added with the same level of difficulty or challenge.” Well buying a mount from a vendor is not the same difficulty or challenge as farming it as a raid boss drop.
They didn’t do this during Pandaria Remix. It shouldn’t be recolors for Legion remix either. I have the mounts and it doesn’t matter. It’s content from almost a decade ago.
Again, it’s over a decade. We get to keep these mounts that we farmed for that long before a remix comes around. Also, some might not even like the fast pace of remix, or maybe they weren’t subbed then. They’ll still be farming it.
And besides that it really doesn’t matter if people get those mounts. Farming for stuff for over a decade should not be needed to keep the lights on.
Farming it the old way now isn’t a challenge and hasn’t been since Legion was out.
Putting mounts on a vendor in legion remix essentially removes mount farming content from the entire legion expansion: why would someone spend their time farming mounts in legion when they get the mounts for 30 minutes of play time in legion remix?
The same goes for every other expansion: why would someone bother farming for mounts in shadowlands when they can just wait for shadowlands remix?
There have already been numerous posts during the collector bounty event of players saying they aren’t going to bother with legion mounts because they will get them all from legion remix:
Putting every rare mount on a vendor in remix completely demotivates the entire player base from wanting to farm any mounts.
Why bother with collector’s bounty? A 5% buff doesn’t compare to buying the mounts on a vendor.
Don’t do ulduar for mimiron’s head, wait for WoTLK remix.
Don’t do firelands for ragnaros mount, wait for cata remix.
The best compromise is to simply put new mounts an recolors on the vendors in remix - gives people more than enough incentive to play remix without demotivating players from playing the current content.
Putting rare mounts on vendors basically will cause people to just unsub until the remix and then unsub after remix is over.
It is very time-consuming, which is the challenge. Putting the mount on a vendor allows you to get the mount in 10-15 minutes of play time as opposed to hundreds of weeks of lockouts.
The bottom line is that putting rare mounts on a vendor in remix demotivates the entire player base from engaging with the live retail content.
i think thats why they do collectors bounty. they knew they made a mistake letting people just buy up the world and raid mounts, cause thats time played they accidentally got rid of
You’re right. Now I feel bad for getting all those mounts and armor sets and class weapon sets when I played MOP Remix. If I could give it all back and just legacy farm for a couple of years I would. But I can’t. So, I’ll just show my solidarity with your cause by cancelling my sub.
I’m such a loser. I probably won’t even be able to motivate myself to quit.
