Should they put the original currently unobtainable Mage Tower appearances in during Legion Remix? Normally I’d say no, but after what they did to Guardian Druids I feel like they owe it to everyone.
They’re not going to. Just like they didn’t add the challenge mode sets in MoP. People just need to accept that.
Weps for outlaw is meh, i got better artifacts
Even if people think they should, I doubt they will. Why? Because they didn’t even do the same for the challenge gear from Mists.
Nope, but someone (not me) should come up with some form of drinking game for each time this thread gets brought up from now until Legion Remix launches.
They should put in recolors.
Hope so, but also won’t lose sleep if they don’t. i got a heaps other legion weapon appearances i can unlock instead. \o/
Agree about recolors. It would be fun to do them again for the challenge too
Nah, a very angry and vocal minority would probably send bomb threats to blizz if any of their beloved FOMO items returned
Even though mage tower was a joke and you could just outgear and faceroll it later on
They won’t, because MoP Remix didn’t have those challenge mode sets avaliable.
That being said, there might be an alternative thing to earn, like how we currently have class sets as a reward.
I’m honestly hoping new skins in their entirety, would give me a reason to play it again.
I’m still burnt out on Legion, even now. I played it so hard when it was current.
Like, just thinking about Withered Training scenario makes my skin crawl lmao.
I still have it memorized, which areas to go, which parts to skip, etc.
But ‘muh solo content’ 8 years ago. almost clownish of them to compare it to CE/Elite sets (especially so it being available the season afterwards and not being tuned up).
Who knows maybe they’ll do a ‘visions’ on it and add extra challenges for the old and new rewards.
Oh yea visions, and how they brought back the faceless title after advertising it was gone when the xpac gone
The very weird standards they have for what stays gone and what comes back
Chances are mage tower won’t even be available since challenge mode in the mists remix wasn’t. They might add arsenals with recolors of the skins but Blizz loves cutting corners with these. We most likely won’t even see artifact power return or the relics you socket into artifacts meaning anything again. My question though is are they allowing Evokers in this remix and if so do they get a class hall or they getting denied such while everyone else gets to do theirs?
I agree, normally I would say no…but I expect them to put some version out there for the people that didn’t play then. Maybe not from the mage tower specifically, but definitely some version of the skins.
I feel bad for the all of the druids that missed it. Everybody else is whatevs…but druids dont have that many options to begin with
I started WoW in legion …certainly not my least favorite expansion.
Might be fun to burn thru the legion raids.
Do I think they should? Yes, even though that means my precious rare transmog becomes less unique. Because I think FOMO is silly, and I have to stand on principle even when it doesn’t benefit me.
Do I think they will? No, since as others have mentioned, they didn’t bring back MoP challenge mode sets.
What I think is more likely (and potentially cool) is them introducing new recolors of the existing artifact skins for us to obtain. I could see them doing maybe one new color variant for each skin. I’d looove to unlock more an additional color variant of my Mage Tower skin. They’d probably have to invent something new for evokers though.
yes i would love to get the ghostblades, some of the sickest dags in the game
Yes but they won’t because they’re cowards wanting to cater to a bunch of worthless special snowflakes who think being present during a specific period of time should award exclusive items.
And I say that as someone who got all the ones I wanted back then and wouldn’t care if people got them today. They absolutely never meant you were actually good at the content and if you were a spec that had Agatha as your boss, it was all but impossible to fail if you did it when the command center or whatever building had allies helping you out in the world was up since that fight was flagged as outdoors and Argus bandages did massive AOE holy damage which all combined to absolutely brutalize her adds making her a glorified tank and spank fight.
The tank and healer fights were the only ones with some semblance of a challenge since Kruul could still knock you off and if you didn’t interrupt him he could melee you and heal and the healer fight took like 39405097437843 years to wade through and IIRC it had some stupid mechanic where if you overgeared it you actually struggled to do its gimmick so some healers had to do it without pants or whatnot.
Hope so! I have near zero positive position on permanent exclusive ideas. Now in WoW I’ve got nothing to make that seam like anything besides gimmie gimme lol but I have maintained this in FFXIV as well, and there I do have quite a bit of stuff (played since 1.0 beta).
Permanent exclusive is a type of two way toxic tool, abuse players into being worried about missing out so they “have to do it now, probably, maybe, who knows but if you dont or especially if you take a break from me then you’ll regret it!” and player evaluation where people feel better to have things others can’t. I don’t like this item because it’s cool or because it was fun to get, I like it because you can’t have it. Lame…
It’s a digital space where these limits are unnecessary and often not even skill related, just in the right moment at the right time.
If possible keeping the story similar can be cool though, like with remix it makes a lot of sense to bring it back because that growth and challenge and then ease (late legion) all can be captured. Like when I suggested pvp stuff can cycle, it’s not make it cost 1 honor but allow players to select an old season for the quarter to have as a sort of parallel track (so if an item took a specific rank, cool make the player do that again). Although I do like bringing non-sane rewards down to sane levels after a period of time (so like a rep quest that requires 500 daily a year later might just be 100, where 500 was just to feed the people who honestly play the game like it’s a job lol). Alternative example I hope shattered timeline (difficulty increase of open world) could be applied to dungeons for better / more loot drops, because 1 shotting the boss 50 times is just ’okay’ and id rather have to dodge the mechanics, do my rotation, take longer per run, and do it fewer times.
Temporary exclusive, is fine because it also allows devs some time to figure out what it can fit in with, and slightly feeds that toxic emotion (that I too feel, but then feel silly that I felt it).
I don’t mind titles/appearances/cheetos going away. It adds a lot of color to the game/community to see people w/ legacy titles. It’s cool that players can showcase their career accomplishments. I don’t feel bad that I don’t have them and I doubt they feel superior for having them.
FOMO is more of a personal battle. If you feel an unwelcome impulse to play because you are worried about missing out, you should reflect on that. I doubt the devs are engineering it into content. It’s clear that content is time limited because, at some point, it’s not relevant and/or it is too difficult/costly to maintain in perpetuity.
IMO the solution when bringing back old content should always be: Add new rewards instead of rehashing old stuff.
Personally, I want mage tower challenge on steroids w/ some brand new, high-res artifact models as rewards.
