In Dragonflight pre-patch, Legion raids, dungeons, and world mobs have increased their level from 45 to 60. This makes everything on Broken Isles incredibly more powerful. Casual players without the top gear are now having a very hard time finishing up their long-wished-for Legion collections.
The Chromie Time system is designed to have old contents (and rewards) “leveling up” with a leveling character within Chromie Time, not outside Chromie Time.
The Burning Crusade contents, for instance, work correctly. Outside Chromie Time, dungeons and world mobs are fixed at their native level which is 30. Within Chromie Time, they scale up to Level 60.
It is correct that Legion raids, dungeons, and world mobs scale up to Level 60 within Chromie Time. However, they should not scale up past their native level cap, which is 45.
Some players have voiced concern about this bug. But Legion is now played by only a niche. So those concerns are not loudly heard. I hope Blizzard hears us now, and fix this simple bug soon.
I sent a level 60 character to check outdoor mobs in Val’sharah, Broken Shore, and Argus. I also peeked into Darkheart Thicket, Black Rook Hold, Cathedral of Eternal Night, and Seat of the Triumvirate.
All the mobs were level 45, except for a few elites at 46 on the Broken shore and Dungeon bosses at 47.
The problem is not the mobs, it is that somehow you are stuck in Chromie time scaling.
Yes it has been hot-fixed. I’ve tested and verified. I’m thankful.
Now Legion Legion raids, dungeons, and world mobs have returned to level 45 or 46, which is cool. But the character power buff (Nov 23 hotfix) on legacy contents is still arguably too weak. I will make another complaint if I have more supporting data.
