Is this still obtainable? I’m a (much) older returning player and dual wielding Thunderfury sounds like a blast.
If it is are there even any prerequisites anymore? Or can I just run the dungeons until I get the drops and do the short quest to unlock?

You can unlock it. Make sure you have
The dread blades artifact quest chain done to obtain the blades.
Then once you collect both the pieces and the ore (ore can be bought on the ah) you have to do the entry quest chains for stormhein to unlock the drakes.
