Legion Mage Tower Artifact Appearances

Would like to see a permanent return of the mage tower artifact appearances. For players both new and/or yet to obtain, this remains unfair. Other items removed from the game over time is another story, but the artifacts/appearances were an integral part of the Legion expansion weapons system design (of which it is all available as intended except this), and should not have been removed. People have paid for the expansion, and should expect to have access to the whole system, not have parts of it blanked out and unattainable…

These appearances are meant to be a limited time reward. They are a prestige item for those of us who were here and completed the challenge when it was current content. Making them available in perpetuity would simply make them less special for everyone. This is not the only transmog, item, or achievement that is no longer available. And I’m fine with that.

We’re not talking how special they are to those who have them like an old general item of WoW’s history removed from the game, rare mythic raid drop, pvp mount etc, or comic-con code. We’re talking a part of the expansion design, which still exists… except for this part. The expansion artifact weapon pages are incomplete without them…

While the artifact weapons were an integral part of the Legion expansion, the appearances were just another carrot to encourage the playerbase towards different parts of the game.

basically what he said. there has been stuff ive missed when ive quit for various periods of times. does it suck? it does. but i understand why they have limited content. makes me happy I got the mage tower done. it was a goal i set for myself and i accomplished it.

So what’s the harm in bringing them back? They’ve brought back other items that were removed from the game (eg, Chromatic Sword, which was deemed very special based on removal from game, and gold cap priced since that happened until now). Why should anyone be feeling so special and better than anyone else who doesn’t have an appearance that is a part of the expansion itself in the weapon system design (not a random drop)?

Tbh they didn’t cut off the reward time frame early enough. Getting the mage tower appearance was SOOOOOOOOO hard at 900+ IL. /s

It’s not unfair at all. They were very lenient towards the end, making a static mage tower cycle and fully maxing our artifact weapons. What’s your excuse why you failed to get them?

They made getting the towers done a cake walk, I wonder why you couldn’t get them done. As for players who didn’t play legion expansion when it was current, isn’t that really their own fault.

They also did it so people had a reason to play all the way tru legion hated it lol!was smart move on them or i wouldn’t not have gotten the 10 mage towers skins i really wanted.

They won’t come back for the same reason why MOP and WOD Gold CM rewards wont. They were all designed under certain player skills and systems that are no longer in game. They would have to update them pretty much every expansion and they won’t because of the time and resources that takes from current content.

Some things are only available for a limited time…

My alt account I didn’t have much time to do them so only got hunter all 3 because it was the easiest class to complete. I would like the others but it’s on to the next. One thing that made me mad was making the hidden appearances from raids and dungeons have horrible drop rates now. Its probably 5 percent rate now which is insane.

Like others, I think old rewards of the past should remain in the past. The thing is, it’s not integral to any system. It was a challenge of the time, and you can still unlock most of the other artifact skins. I think a huge reason I’m against bringing them back in any form is because the classes no longer work the same as they did in Legion. Some do, but many have lost a lot of abilities or passives from the artifact, or they’ve been reworked entirely, and they don’t have the same ability to complete the challenges.

I’m sorry to those who missed out on the Mage Tower. It was truly the best part about Legion for me. But I’d rather move on with new challenges and new rewards instead of bringing back old ones.

I will speak on this: I got all of my hidden sim Legion for every class, but it took me 8 months to get Guardian Druid and 14 to get Survival, and that’s with running Emerald Nightmare every single day. I was just super unlucky so I don’t know if they’ve actually changed the drop or if it always sucked, haha.
