Legion herbalism was amazing. SL herbalism is the worst it has ever been

I came late enough in Legion that I never actually did them, but if they were anything like that Anchor Weed thing in BfA I hear ya. That was awful.

Funny thing is that craft quests can be fun. FF14 has whole series of em, and I have done em all. They often have heart, and a dedicated storyline. I am hoping with the crafting revamp next expac, we can actually do something like that too.

To be honest, I don’t really remember anchor weed issues.

Legion was far worse, it takes a lot of gathering to get the quests drop. I love the perks though, like the fox sometimes spawn from Foxflower, or Life/Death theme Dreamleaf, or herb gathering on an Ancient. I think that was a quest, but that was cool.

Weren’t the quests in BfA like that too? Least some of them, anyway. Had to get an item to drop and bring it to the trainer so that you could go gather more item? Either way, it’s more tedious than it needs to be, I agree. Especially if the RNG isn’t on your side.

Heh, which brings me to the Anchor Weed. Let’s just say that the RNG was never on my side. Pretty sure I murdered its mother or something, and it now just has a vendetta against me. :stuck_out_tongue:

7.1 was 56 days into legion. Not really halfway.

Patch 7.3 was 322 days long, 46.9% of legion’s lifespan (not including legion or bfa pre-patch time).

It’s perfectly fair for people to judge the quality of a product when it’s half of it.

I didn’t like RNG of the ranks. It should have just been a simple skill check. Otherwise, the quests were, most of the time, interesting and not too annoying.

Economics aside, I really enjoy just flying around a continent gathering everything in sight while watching tv or w/e. It’s been 2 expansions now that I have been interrupted by teleports or flight paths inbetween areas. Really happy that we are getting a big continent again next time.

Yeah I didn’t at all like the rng to work toward the gathering professions rank 2/3. Or the drop/procs for producing profs rank 3. The quests are what I really miss. Really brought together the whole game and fit well with the players’ natural tendency at the time to farm mog with the new account-wide system. Two birds with one stone and made the game feel whole.

Shame they haven’t hit that mark again.

I liked flying around and herbing it up and in Highmountain the Foxflowers would sometimes spawn a fox who would run around dropping more herbs. I like stuff like that.

to be honest, gathering has never recovered from the Token. The time and effort to gather and sell herb and ore and leather felt so unrewarding when for $20 you could just buy the token. Sad, And I remember spending my first week of Wrath circling the half of sholazar that wouldn’t kill me easy, and using the demand for ore to buy my mechanohog.
