Legion Engineering, can't learn it

So i decided to drop maxed herbalism for Engineering so that I can learn the technique for taming mechanical pets. Google said i needed to be 1-700 to get the quest (not true btw, i learned it last night on an allied race…see below) so i went around the world and learned every xpac, including BfA.

My issue is that Hobart Grapplehammer isn’t triggering the quest “Aww Scrap!”

I submitted a ticket and i got the usual…“GM’s don’t give hints, try wowhead”

I tried wowhead and the only thing it said was that 1-700 is required…well last night i was leveling my allied race and when i hit level 99, i went to Dalaran and guess what, the quest was there!

So i see no reason why a 120 is having issues, especially one that played at cap in Legion. I submitted a bug report but those do nothing, especially in resolving my in game issue.

Anybody have info on this? i don’s care if I’m missing something obvious and get flamed…just point me in the right direction. To me, the bug seems to be that if a player already has engineering when they hit Dalaran, they are ok…

Problem solved…
Hobart Grapplehammer sells a book…Forgotten Schematics of the Broken Isles…Cost 1000 gold and will teach you Legion Engineering.

You didn’t have to switch to engineering, you only needed to know a nice engineer. The “Mecha-Bond Imprint Matrix” can be used by any hunter, even non-Engineer ones. You only need to be an Engineer to craft them. The recipe can be purchased for 1 curious coin from Xuros in Legion Dalaran. Not sure if he always has this recipe for sale or its one of his rotation items.

I have a similar problem in that I am unable to train mechanical pets . The difference is that I am an engineer and I bought the “Mecha-Bond Imprint Matrix” and learned it. Still can’t train mechanicals. When I try it tells me that I don’t know how to tame (the Sabertron specifically). I went back to Xuros and it tells me it’s already known. At this point I feel stupid. Do I need to do a quest line I missed? I asked a GM and they say log in and back out should fix it. Did that. Made no difference. Their next suggestion was to post the question here. Can someone point me in the right direction please?

All i had to do was use the matrix. I do not remember if i had to do a specific quest, but since it is designed to be used by non engineer hunters, too, i doubt you need to be at any engineering level.
