says absolutely no one wants wod
proceeds to mention legion
Legion was night and day difference from wod
both are hard to look at let alone play
WoD survival hunter was probably my favorite spec ever for a class.
We are probably getting legion remix.
I love WoD. It gave gladiator stance and Claws of Shirvallah. While subjective, I loved ashran. Objectively, garrisons were a terrible addition.
I’d rather they just stop progressive classic, past Wotlk though.
A 5-year rotation of the initial trilogy, with classic era servers additionally, would be my ideal scenario.
I feel like Legion is the best of modern Retail. Might as well just adapt the Retail client to do it again like they did MoP
They won’t skip WoD. Gotta sell those WoD Deluxe Editions.
Legion was in a league of its own being next to Wod, best xpac we have ever had since Wrath. Have not had anything close to Legion Quality since.
the damage is so low it feels like im playing with molasses on my hands, no thanks
arena where people just beat on each other until dampening really kicks in is not fun
I loved my garrisons. Had them fully built up with tons of followers, auction houses, guild banners, and music. Full banking. Separate special hearthstone. And much more.
Umm actually you can’t say nobody wants WoD classic cuz I certainly do. It’s the first full xpac I played, having come in at the tail end of MoP. I loved WoD and legion. The abilities, talents, rotation and overall feel was perfect from MoP-Legion. Leveling was fun and the right speed. Vanilla way too slow and boring with so few abilities, but retail today is way too far the other direction cuz if you blink you’ll miss the leveling process and you’re inundated with more keybinds than anyone truly needs (on certain specs certainly) of course this is simply my opinion and I daresay many people, if not most, will disagree but if there was a server that just ran from MoP-Legion on a permanent and repeating progression, then I’d abandon retail in a heartbeat
You’re right, it was that much worse.
Warlords of Farmville was atrocious and what made me quit WoW for good. I would have never resubbed if Classic didn’t come out.
You and half the playerbase quit in WoD, brother.
That was really when WoW drastically changed in its overall design.
Legion is the one “modern” wow expansion that was almost unanimously well received.
Players liked the storyline but the game play was garbage. The raids were really good, I am on board with that, but the invasion portals, and all the contrived BS borrowed to replaced even more pruned skills and abilities was easily the worst design choice ever.
I personally loved MoP mechanically and disliked the storyline, but the raids in MoP were also really good, just like the raids in WoD were really good.
Problem tho with MoP from a “new player” point of view, something I found out when carrying new players in Arena to get them their 2k unlocks on cosmetic weapons enchants (bloody dancing steel), I discovered that new players were overwhelmed by there being too many mechanics and that’s actually a serious problem because it makes approachability to the game almost impossible without help; this harmed the bottom line and harmed arena participation.
WoD, Legion and so on have had worse and worse arena participation for different reasons, namely contrived class dominance rather than attempted class balance like MoP. What I mean by this is in MoP Brian Holinka did a really good job working with Greg Street on getting the classes into a shape that worked for both PVE and PVP, but when Greg left the company Brian no longer had the backing of the PVE side of the game to keep PVP operational and the new direction in PVE being forced class dominance to drive re-rolls and better MAU values because players naturally want to be playing the best classes… broke the game.
Legion suffered big time from this forced class dominance issue, and because we had the crappy PVP templates; we the players no longer had the capability to un-ruin blizzards design mistakes and as a result some classes were just pure dumpster tier; this is TRASH design.
So in every measurable way that matters to me… Legion is worse than WoD.
There’s a reason Kris Zierhut leaves the wow team around WoD and doesn’t come back till wow classic tbc pre-patch ;).
