Legendries and Season 4

Blizzard, let’s face it. The legendaries are cool and all, but it is extremely discouraging that with these last 2 legendaries, we put in a lot of work into both getting and crafting them, only to almost immediately leave them behind.
I got my Evoker’s legendary a full month before 10.2 came out and it was immediately replaced when I started doing Keys that gave Hero track gear.
I only this week got the Legendary axe for my Paly and with season 4 on the horizon, I am concerned.
Please put in a way that we can upgrade both of these legendaries to be top gear for Season 4. We put in so much time, work, and especially gold to make these and they really should be an expansion long top-tier gear. Not top-tier for the season alone.

(On a separate note, if you are going to continue the way future legendaries are acquired, some notes.

  • Fix the acquisition of these, the personal drop loot of them is cool and all, but them dropping for people mear weeks before end of season feels terrible.
  • PLEASE remove the crazy and pointless grind for mats for these. The most recent legendary axe was met with complete awe when it dropped for me, then replaced with shock when I had to grind out rares, gear and MULTIPLE superblooms to get the required mats. Yes, I grinded it out in a full day and got my axe, but it was incredibly annoying.
  • On a good note, the end of the legendary axe quest chain was AMAZING. Having to “fight” the axe and prove you are capable of wielding it was so much more satisfying than the Evoker legendary ending. “crafting” legendaries really should not be a “GRIND OUT CURRENT CONTENT” and be more like Legion Artifact weapons and be an adventure that takes you all around the world to collect pieces to make.

We still have probably 2-2.5 months left in the season.

They likely will, similar to what they did in S4 of SL.

Are they ? All i see is people not happy cuz they didnt get them

They had stated that 10.2.6 is planned for March, and Season 4 should be starting around that time as well.
I do hope they let us upgrade them to top iLvl gear, I liked the evoker legendary and the axe, while “different” is still cool for M+.

They stated they will start PTR testing for season 4 after 10.2.6 comes out, which probably won’t be until mid March. I’d guess a solid month of testing and iterations at least for Season 4.

Eh, there is good and bad arguments for them.
Someone who doesnt raid normally is likely to hate having to raid to get them, but they are at least decent.
Legendaries went downhill after Legion because the artifacts were such a cool thing and the way they have handled the drops of the legendaries in Dragonflight is just crazy… For both the Evoker and The Axe I pugged into Last boss kills for weeks on end.
My big complaint is that they are lacking in power and it feels terrible to almost immediately replace when the new season comes out.
If you do the content and work to get the legendary, it should last that character for the rest of the expansion in my opinion.

It’s hard to find happy people on the forums in general.

This is an interesting topic because people will have very different views.

Say there was a way to make the evoker legendary BiS this season. This gets viewed in 2 ways:

  1. Awesome, I have this legendary and I’ll get to use it in the next patch.

  2. Blizzard this sucks my BiS this patch is from season 2 and now you are forcing me to grind old content.

They could shift the boss it comes from to Fryakk of course, but that also really kills the narrative behind the legendary.

I do agree the Fryakk quest chain has way too much pointless stupid grind in it (rares and superblooms, really?)

If the Sylvanas legendary bow in Shadowlands Season 4 is any indication, then Evokers and plate classes will get an item to upgrade the item level of their legendary in Dragonflight Season 4.

Curious how it’s going to work though. The Sylvanas bow had different item levels depending on which raid difficulty you got it, and the upgrade tokens also upgraded to different raid difficulty levels.

The Evoker leggo and the axe are a fixed item level, so will they just upgrade to whatever Fated mythic raid cap is in a single shot? Or will you need to defeat the mythic Fated bosses respectively to get your upgrades?

A lot of people on the forums just don’t seem to be ok with the idea that there exist rewards they want but do not have.
