With the ending of MoP and WoD, we saw the departure of the legendary questlines for those expansions. I could never understand why those 2 were removed but the others like Shadowmourne and Fangs of the Father were left in game. I felt they were a big part of their respective expacs and carried the storyline along so well. I’d really love to see them put back in the game so I could enjoy them once again; surely I’m not the only one. I find myself almost wanting to go to a private server just for the sole purpose of doing those questlines again for the enjoyment of it. If it’s the unique rewards/achievements that’s keeping them out for whatever reason, just remove them but leave the storyline aspect intact. I was only ever able to do both questlines once when they were in game and would so very much love the chance to do them again.
Is Ordos still locked off for anyone who never got a MoP legendary cape on their account? I think he is, though I can’t test to be sure since I have a cape… Anyway either way I did think it was kinda dumb he’s pretty much perma locked if you never got a cape. It’s not like he even drops anything special…
Yes. They have never changed this.
It’s a valid point. Dragonwrath, Tarecgosa’s Rest is another example of a legendary questline that can be completed today.
I have the legendary cloaks from MoP but I can’t imagine a good reason why that questline shouldn’t still be available today for those who missed it.
i hated legendary quests, it took up too much space in the quest log over a very long time with a 25 quest cap before you had to abandon a few quests
Well then this thread probably isn’t for you. It’s not like making these storylines available again makes it mandatory that YOU pursue them. Lots of folks would like to experience those storylines since they weren’t around or otherwise missed out on them the first time around.
Yeah, like I said, I never missed it, but I only got to do both of those questlines once. But I’d very much love to just go back through on a max level toon and enjoy those stories again.
When content is removed, the story appears broken. I guess devs are assuming that when the story appears broken, new players will blame themselves for not having subscribed before they ever heard of the game or before they were even born, in some cases.
When the best bling is removed, new players feel bad. Being blamed for having missed out doesn’t make them feel better. It just makes them feel bad about the game. It does not lead directly to addiction.
I often have to explain to curious druids where I got my cat form. And they’re very disappointed to hear it is no longer available.
Making new players feel bad about the game is not actually good for the game.
Well I did suggest that the rewards and achievements could be removed. So the only reason to do it is enjoy the story being told.
If they persist with this everyone in the game must have a legendary every two years, then they should go back to the Mop, and Wod model. Because the Legion, BFA, and Shadowfail legendary systems were horrible imo.
A lot of people did like the Legion legendary system, at least after they relaxed the drop rate and removed the cap. There were a lot of people who collected those legendaries.
Legion would not have been nearly as much fun if I hadn’t been able to mix and match legendaries throughout the expansion. One of my bis legendaries wasn’t even originally intended for my spec.
“Here’s your legendaries: Sephuz Secret and Prydaz. Say thank you.”
Didn’t you know that we have a bunch of people here that feel the need to tell you that the thing you like is not a thing they like?
It’s very helpful and constructive.
That I disagree with. They apply this rule inconsistently. As you pointed out, they retain other legendary questlines along with the achievements and rewards, they may as well open up the others as well. There are still things you can’t go back and get an achievement for - like AotC kills. But the legendary quests should be consistent in allowing folks to go back and do them to get those legendaries. This is especially attractive to folks who also enjoy creating a maxed out timewalking set.
I know, I was only suggesting that if by some strange reason, that was the reason its removed.
It’s not so much that they’re telling people the thing you like is not a thing they like. It’s more that they want the thing you like removed from the game, because only people who want to play the game the way they do are doing it right.
Yep. I have NO IDEA why this is still a thing, either; it locks off a piece of transmog that Hunters literally cannot obtain otherwise but the gear itself isn’t special outside of being a piece of the Shaman tier.
I never understood why they removed those chains in the first place. Hell, the WoD legendary ring is broken (as in it does not work) as intended even in timewalking. And they have no intention of actually fixing it so it can be used in timewalking.
It also breaks up the narrative flow of those two expansions. Mainly WoD as it is through the legendary chain where we see Gul’daddy take over the Iron Horde following the loss of Blackrock Foundry.
Blizzard has added Ordos’ loot table to the BMAH, including things like the necks…
Is it just the gap that can’t be crossed or that you can’t loot Ordos at all? Because I’ve gotten people across the gap by simply having them ride as a mount passenger. But for the life of me I can’t remember if they could or couldn’t engage Ordos…
Man, I truly miss legendary quest lines. I do not like crafting them like this.
