Well… Looks like we got the cloaks people wanted back as a toy cosmetic, better than nothing I suppose
I just wanted my cloak to optionally show the spell effects.

I like them and hope they offer us more toys, some with functionality and quality of life improvements like Katy’s Stampwhistle, Underlight Angler and others with pronounced cosmetic effects or even ones with more pronounced cosmetic effects like the spectral ones (from Legion), the Ardenweald Butterfly wing one, and the dark vampire Tithe Vessel one you wear on your back.
I’m happy and grateful for those new toys though. Toys, to me, are better than those limited time mounts from AOTC raids, and they give me something achievable to farm and look forward to.

I will never wear those cloaks again because they are the same as all the cloaks from MoP: ugly as sin.
It’s the ability to get the cosmetic effect you had when you had the cloak equipped is what we wanted.

I never understood why transmogging the cloak didn’t give you the little spell effect.
That was about the only reason to transmog those cloaks to begin with.

The only useful part of the cloaks is the visual effect and the proc for timewalking.
Toy is kind of useless.

I have the cloak on 3 toons - all it was was a long long long grind running LFR or higher. Lots, and lots of LFR. And grinding Black Prince rep.
Blizzard needs to start doing wht a lot of companies are doing nowadays - when something is limited time, they allow it to be special for a year. After that, it’s free game to reintroduce it into the game at an easier way to obtain. Though in Blizzard’s case, an expansion in between would make more sense.

Actually, I found some of the fights involved in the quest chain to be quite challenging (until I think they nerfed them). I think I only got it for 3 toons because I couldnt be bothered doing the whole thing again.
I sort of dislike the approach of “its easy, I did it, anyone can”. Thing is, that’s a subjective opinion because not everyone has the same level of skill, y’know.
