It’s now the fourth week I’ve done MC and my guild has seen two binding drops ( Both from Garr ) and many other guilds seem to be having similar luck as well whether it be Eye of Sulfras or the other binding.
Does it seem like the drop rates have been increased or maybe some guilds are just getting extremely lucky?
Posts like this are just begging for them to stealth nerf the drop rates.
What is the point of a legendary item if everyone has one?

People are more likely to keep playing if they believe there is a realistic chance of them getting one of the OG legendaries. I’ve no clue if the drop rate is broken or if this is all pure luck, but I do know what kinds of effects hope can have on the human psyche. I.e. Activision and its pet, Blizzard, probably stand to benefit. That’s the point.
Doesn’t matter to me anyway, I guess. I already got Thunderfury and Sulfuras when they were relevant content the first time around. Best to let the kiddies that never got to play Classic have their fun, I think.
I don’t know if the drop rate changed from vanilla to BFA, but I see those things nearly every week I run MC.
Perhaps it seems higher because more guilds are clearing it effortlessly. Back in the day, at least on my server, we had like 2-3 guilds able to clear it weekly. Now it seems like every 60 on Mankrik has cleared it.
This is actually a good point. There weren’t anywhere near the number of guilds capable of clearing the content back then as there are now. It probably just /seems/ inflated.
It took me forever to kill Ragnaros back in the day. Literally months before my guild even reached him, and another to kill him.
I could login tomorrow during peak hours, jump in some pug and likely down him. A bit disappointing, but it should be expected.

I was in one of the servers top guilds back in vanilla, we had mc on farm for months on end, and we only had one hand of rag…

This is gonna sound a bit lame, perhaps, but I think I kinda like the more relaxed state of Classic. I’ve already long since paid my dues by staying awake for days on end and slamming my head on obscenely difficult bosses (Absolute Virtue, anyone?) in various MMOs. As someone that’s getting on in years, it’s nice to be able to spend more time DPSing than dodging one of the thirty different one-shot mechanics bosses seem to be laden with these days. Not to say I’m against difficulty–I still enjoy M+ and Mythic raiding in retail to a degree–but sometimes it’s nice to just put on some chill music and blow a raid boss the eff up.

I can understand that. It’s nice not having the headaches from back in the day.
If you think possessing something that you required the help of umpteen others to acquire somehow says anything about you then I guess it’s kind of deflating (and I use thast word deliberately, I’m sure you’ll ‘get it’) … for the rest of us who don’t care what you have or who got it for you it’s a non-issue.
Epic drop rates were really low outside Raids in vanilla, thats why it was so good! Most of us had Greens and blues and that was considered great, people with blues and a couple epics were considered geared, and people with epic set were gods!
Unlike retail where you stand in a field while other kill a boss and an epic falls in your inventory!

We have been clearing MC twice a week since week 2 doing 2 MC clears in parallel on Tuesday nights. No Legendary drops yet, and we’ve cleared a bit more MC under our roof than most have.
No Toep/Mageblades
No Legendary drops
No Rag Weapons
No Ony Weapons
No Brutality Blade
Its been a tough few weeks boys. Then some random pug who didn’t even clear MC got their pug warrior both Bindings in one run… feels RNG man. I think you guys have just had great luck.

I’ll assume the drop rates are the same as they’ve always been, but the difference is that almost everyone who has a lvl 60s-oriented guild already has MC on farm, so the frequency of potential drops/yields is much greater.
As far as I’m aware, only one binding has dropped on my entire server atm. Random loot is just random.
Back in OG we farmed MC every week for 2 years.
This netted us 3 thunderfuries, and 1 hand of rag
those ingots were a real killer
We actually got a garr binding on our guild’s first MC clear. But I can’t say much as to whether the drop rate is higher… I don’t have access to the numbers.
Lol what class were you playing that both Sulfuras and Thunderfury were relevant for you?
My guild cleared mc 3 times and have seen no legends yet
