How do I get the quest line for the legendary cloak? I’ve heard that I need to complete the war campaign, is that true? I have not played since Legion.
You need to complete the 3 foothold quests so that you can unlock world quests, but you shouldn’t need to do anything more of the war campaign to get to the cloak quest. Here’s the general steps for unlocking the cloak. Of course, a lot of things are a bit weird at the moment, so it’s possible things have changed (or things are bugged.)
- Unlock World Quests. Complete “Uniting Kul Tiras” (A)/“Uniting Zandalar”(H) from Wyrmcaller/Nathanos on the boat. This quest won’t show up until you’ve unlocked the 3 foothold quests on the enemy continent. (If you’ve already unlocked world quests on another character, you can pick this quest up without the footholds done.)
- Unlock Naz’jatar. The quest should pop up once world quests are unlocked. If not, you should be able to get it on the boat. The quest to start it is “The Wolf’s Offensive” (A) / “The Warchief’s Order” (H).
- Complete the quest chain to unlock essences. Magni will show up with the quest “Essential Empowerment” in Naz’jatar once you’ve established your base there. The final quest needed in that chain is “Harnessing the Power.”
- The start quest for the 8.3 questlines should pop up the next time you enter Boralus/Zuldazar (or relogging can trigger it.) The quest is “An Unwelcome Advisor” (A) / “Return of the Black Prince” (H).
