So I don’t play retail all that much often anymore, if at all really.
But I heard you can get the legendary axe from LFR and I don’t really have any big plans to raid big time on Retail since I raid mostly on classic anways.
Has anyone actually gotten Fyr’alath from LFR? or is it a myth
Probably; I got the Evoker legendary, Nasz’uro, last season from Normal Sarkareth - it’s just a much lower chance.
I did, but the odds were wild, 0.6% (8 kills).

It’s possible to get the axe from LFR, but from what I’ve been hearing the odds are so low that it’s not worth bothering to attempt.

Good luck in getting one. I hate the new system for LFR loot. It’s pushed me back to only mythic + dungeons.

It can drop from lfr yes. The problem is it’s such a crazy low drop chance you may as well not believe it drops from there.
Best bet is to do normal or try to get into a heroic kill, but even at 480 that wasn’t easy. Got 6 normal and 3 heroic kills before finally getting mine and seeing 4 total drop in that kill.
LFR is the lowest possible chance I believe it’s something like 40 weeks of the BLP drops before it would be guaranteed?
If you really want the axe reliably your best bet is doing the last boss of the raid on heroic for 15 weeks. Which for a legendary is a pretty good deal.
LFR and normal give you some chance but aren’t reliable if you really want it.
I have seen a bunch of people with really low gear with the legendary so yes definitely doable.
I don’t think it even gets a chance of a 100% chance on LFR difficulty in any reasonable timeframe (this expansion).
Chance is low, like, getting murdered by an infant low but not impossible.

So you’re telling me theres a chance…
I can probably slide into a few normals but im not commited enough to play retail tbh.
I just mostly want it because it looks cool May see if a few old buddies of mine can drag my rear through a heroic or two like they did for the AoTC
If an Infant murders someone do they go to prison or daycare
Hey I just want to let you know, as I just created my Fyr’alath the Dreamrender yesterday, that even if you “get the drop,” you still have to do a very lengthy questline to actually use it.
I had to do something like participate in around 15 tree escort world events that only occur once an hour, farm like 30 randomly spawning rares, “disenchant” around 15ish epic items…Then buy about 60-100k worth of mats. Pay 3 crafters to create items…Do the raid all over again, multiple times because the quest item bugs out sometimes and won’t give you credit for the boss kill…
There’s probably more, but I’m fine with forgetting. All this so you can have a weapon that’s like maybe an 8-10% dps increase.
Are you SURE you want to waste that much time when and IF you ever get the axe to drop in the first place?

Then why bother? Getting it would still require at least 200k+ gold and a bunch of super blooms and other things.
If you’re not even wanting to play retail really why are you even wanting something like this?
You confuse me.
Poster above lays out how much there is after getting the axe which starts as a quest item.
You can’t use it right after getting it. You have 15+ hours of stuff to do if you don’t stop.
I got 2 of my 3 axes from lfr. 1 of the lfr axes from before they buffed the drop rate.
I’ve seen it drop on LFR but has happened only once in the runs I’ve done of it.
Am also hoping for the Axe on Elk over the next month
Ah thats right you can get it from LFR , I have to do a quest right ?
Why do you want to spend a bunch of time chasing an item in a game you don’t play when said item will be irrelevant with the next season or expansion? Its not like its a cool xmog or anyone will be impressed by it in 10 years. Its just another throw-away item that happens to be orange.
I mean I think the axe looks cool af
Must be nice to have… if someone gives you a problem in pvp, just axe them nicely
Axe can drop on LFR, but it is a very, very low percentage. So, you are lucky if you get it in LFR, but I wouldn’t count on it.
If you are serious about farming it, heroic is the way to go.
