Legendary Apron Tabard

Considering the length of time and how hard the apron tabard is to get I propose that it be a legendary item. My title is Chef and my transmog, which I get many compliments on, is only missing said tabard. One day I will be able to wear the glorious blank tabard with absolutely nothing on it. Probably the most boring and useless tabard in the game, yet requires mastering all of Pandaria cooking which requires investment of time in farming, not normal farming, but actual farming (yes I know you could purchase the ingredients with mfing ironpaw tokens). You then must purchase an item not with gold, but 50 yes 50 ironpaw tokens just to be able to summon Nomi. You then are forced to summon Nomi daily and do his redundant quests that simply require you to buy ingredients from a vendor…After weeks and weeks of doing the Nomi dailies one day he will give me the quest that is required for me to unlock the ability to purchase the legendary apron tabard with 50 yes 50 MORE ironpaw tokens. After this I might get the close to useless frying pan and rolling pin for another 100 god forsaken ironpaw tokens. GG

I mean, the dailies are annoying, but the tokens themselves are very easy to get.

Buy them from the Spirit of Harmony vendor.
Danky at Horde’s Shrine, and Krystel at Alliance’s.

At 120 in Pandaria it might take 10-20 mins to farm 10 motes of harmony which would get you 1 ironpaw token from the harmony vendor. 500 motes of harmony well allow you to buy the item to summon Nomi. 500 more for the tabard. You will need hundreds or thousands more motes if you want to use them to buy the cooking mats instead of growing them. “Very easy to get” is subjective. We are talking about all you have to do to get a BLANK tabard that hardly looks like an apron if you are wearing a robe…

When you finish training Nomi you get the apron free with the achievement. I assume the apron is on the vendor just so you can get a new one if you lose yours.

If you are okay with fishing, finding the daily “good fishing site” can be a fairly time-effective way to earn tokens.

I think it’s a 1-1 ratio, not 10-1

And that’s not even the only way, I was just saying that it’s not so difficult as to be impossible. And it’s pretty standard for anything related to cooking. Not really legendary material.

If you think so highly of it…why spend the time to get it?

10 motes make 1 spirit which is 1-1. All I’m saying is that this thing should be legendary for all you have to do for it. I am exaggerating a little of course. Don’t you think this is a little too many hoops to jump through for this tabard though?

Ah. Didn’t read you said motes. While they’re much easier to get in some locations than others, I get what you mean. I think it’s pretty fast to farm turtles and fish to turn in too. But like you said, speed is relative.

And yes, I do think it’s a lot to go through. Which is why I never did it, or the chef’s hat. It’s like, a point a pride for people to complete, not really a useful thing to go after…

In fact, that’s why It’s not legendary: because it’s not useful. Legendary items have to look awesome, and be awesome.

Since this is neither, it just takes a stupid amount of effort to obtain, this is more of a vanity item. And the best vanity items are always difficult to obtain.

Keep in mind that we had a lot of time to do time wasters like this when Pandaria was current.
