Legendaries for Resto Druid?

I came back last week, but been on and off because of work and streaming. And my friend suggested andhelped me get, “The Dark Titans Lesson” is this good for both mythic+ and raiding or only mythic+? I’m also looking for a legendary for raiding too, but I don’t know which one is best.

Dark Titan is ok in M+, but it pretty much limits you to using photosynthesis talent in the lvl 50 row which means you miss out on flourish.

Verdant Infusion is very good healing when you combo it with Cenarion Ward in the lvl 15 row and soul of the forest in the lvl 40 row.

Assuming you went Night Fae if you wanted to main resto so Celestial Spirits is the best raiding choice and quite good in M+ for adding good healer dps. It also lets you use whatever talents you want, but I would still suggest Cenarion Ward and Flourish.

If you are not Night Fae for raiding you are going to want to get Vision of Unending Growth.

DT/Photo is very solid for raw healing in M+.

It’s not particularly great for raiding.

If you want a generalized one for both CS is probably the best option, although I’m not sure that it’s the individual best for either.

So. Many. Options.

I honestly have found uses for all of the following leggos in 9.0 and 9.1

  • Dark titans lesson
  • Verdant infusion
  • The rejuv proc one (idiotically don’t remember he name despite using most of nathria)
-Both covenant ones for kyrian and night fae (can’t speak for venthyr or necro)
  • sephaz blah blah blah (great for random battlegrounds if you feel you’re being ccd nonstop)
  • oath of the elder druid - great for adding more dps to your kit while staying Resto spec, or being very tanky resto in battle grounds (bear affinity). Also niche uses for when you really need to beef up your affinity
-phasmo lure (torghast leggo) I used for twisted corridors

The amount of useful leggos for us is a blessing and a curse. One or two may be the “meta”, but don’t forget to have fun and play what you enjoy.

The leggo recycling can’t come soon enough for me.

I have and use the following:

  1. Dark Titans - As mentioned, it is great for M+ combined with Photosynthesis. I use this with Abundance because the amount of free regrowths (combined with the conduit of more powerful bloomed regrowths) is really nice. I keep one on the tank, and usually the other LB on me. I liked this one a lot for m+. ALso, side effect is that it allows you to cast LB while in boomkin form. so now you can LB and Regrowth while being a lazerchicken.

  2. Verdant Infusion - same as comments above. Works well and synergizes with some of the talents nicely, like bigger wild growths and regrowths when you need it most. My issue is that I always for some reason have problems with 20-30s CDs (like Cenarion) and think of SM more as an “oh crap” heal so I don’t use it enough so I didn’t get a lot of use out of this legendary. So that’s a player issue, which is why i didn’t stick with it.

  3. Celestial Spirit (if NF) - I’m currently running this one when I heal. Love it. This frees me from using Photo like DT pretty much required. Now I’m back to running CW and Flourish. This gives me 2 big short CD healing buffs. Flourish every 90s, Convoke every 60s. With the right soulbinds, Convoke also gives a nice mastery or haste buff every 60s.

I have the rejuv one, but as I don’t really raid, I don’t use it.

Yes, being a druid this expansion is a blessing and a curse. Our legendaries are far better than most other classes. And by better, I mean they provide meaningful choice and variation in play style while remaining competitive. Any of those 3 choices will work. Craft them all at 190 and try them before you start upgrading any of them. See what you like.

Be glad we aren’t like my holy priest which has pretty much one choice…and while its pretty powerful, is really boring to play with. Most of my alts have like 1 good legendary per spec and everyone runs it.

I haven’t used dark titans since making my first legendary in season one and swapping it out almost immediately. It’s decent at best in m+ but I don’t see it being good in raiding. Verdant or one minute convoke seems the way to go.

I’m currently necro with verdant, but that decision was more for pvp. I’m 2200 mythic score and healing isn’t an issue, but damage is.

Once we can start swapping covenants freely I will be going nf and one minute convoke for keys.

I like verdant infusion the best…it gives me lots of time to spend globals on damage spells when heals are just rolling on the tank. useful in most scenarios, and i’m sure in raid scenarios as well.

it also enhances talents like cenarion ward and flourish, which I think expands the spec a bit more than others.

I would take the CS legendary second and dark titan’s third if i had to rank them

Am I missing something here lol who uses flourish in m+

Probably most people.

Because if you aren’t doing DT/Photo it is far and away the best option on that row.

I, like most people, would rather have a very powerful cooldown for those moments where big healing is needed then have my healing slightly stronger all the time (but also using up more gcd which means less dps) for M+

You guys are nuts

verdant infusion for m+ also my favorite, CS for raiding. DT is a pain to use, constant maintenance imo.

If that is the case, what do you define as not nuts?

And that doesn’t change that the answer to the original question is still going to be most people take flourish.

Why you lyin

Flourish is an extremely powerful cooldown that really helps to top off a group taking heavy damage.

Convoke legendary is a really popular choice right now. It is great for burst healing or you can go Boomkin/Kitty form and pop it for some extra offense.

yes i know. thats great for raids but the only reason to take it in mythic+ is if your group is severely lacking damage and you need more time to dps.

if you are using flourish over photo in m+ and your reason is for the healing cd, something is wrong with your play. theres a reason every guide out there says to take photo in m+

verdant infusion received a significant buff in 9.0.5 … (10 seconds vs 8 it was) which enabled cenarion ward to be extended twice.
even before the patch it was already competetive with dark titan, after it, it left it in the dust imo.
flourish also works with it. (and, is also cast more often with convoke legendary)

play what you want, really … thats all that matters is how you enjoy it.
for me, dark titans play is not fun.

Except that they don’t. Wow head guide only says to use photo if you’re using the dark titan legendary. Icy veins does suggest to use photo in m+. However, it should absolutely be noted that both of these guides still references the S1 affix and are quite out of date. That is the nature of guides like that. They are almost always obsolete as soon as they are written.

A much better approach to finding out what people are playing is the mythic subcreation page which lists the top 10 builds currently being used for resto druids. This site surveyed the blizz API to find the top ~4000 resto druids (EDIT: 3849 logs of 1227 unique characters) that are running +22 to +25 keys. Out of these, there was no representation of anyone using photosynthesis. They all used flourish.

Your assessment of “something is wrong with your play” seems to be at odds with what the best players in the world think. I’m not saying that photosynthesis is bad. I’m saying that flourish is better. Resto druid is not as strong currently as it was in BFA. Our mastery is lower (overall and per point), which means we cannot just hot everyone up and dps as freely as we could in S4 of BFA. This devalues photosynthesis by quite a bit. Furthermore, the importance of healers providing significant dps cannot be understated. In order for resto druid to compete with venthyr paladins, kyrian shaman, disc priest, we need to be able to out heal them and set our hots with flourish so that we can actually throw out some damage.

Further evidence of this was provided by the recent MDI. When Jdotb was playing resto druid, he played exclusively flourish in the final row. He was able to heal through enormous pulls with grievous and rarely had troubles. The other healer (typically a paladin) struggled with the same pulls. The evidence was in the health bars and grievous stacks. The difference between the two was extreme.

Resto druid’s power lies in its ability to provide strong throughput. A lot of that includes the use of flourish.

While flourish is not strictly needed in most keys below 17s and 18s, it does provide an avenue for more damage. Flourish also makes bigger, more healing intensive pulls every 90 seconds as opposed to 4 minutes from ashen hallow.

I like using photo. I used it exclusively in BFA and the beginning of SL. I’m not a fan of the lifebloom legendary as it feels like a chore. This is personal preference.

When 100% of the top druids are using flourish, there is evidence that this is probably the better choice.

And to actually answer the OP, convoke legendary is currently the most represented.
