I have never been more disappointed and frustrated with Blizzard and the choices they tend to make that never make any sense. So today I finished by best in slot timewalking set which includes my legendary daggers. I start a Grim Batol timewalking dungeon and to my amazement my dps isn’t the greatest, and I notice my daggers are not procing.
So I take a look and find that the legacy set bonus for my daggers, and my tier 16 set are inactive… Yes, you might say I could had looked into this prior to building the set. It just never occurred to me that Blizzard would do something so silly. My Legion legendary items still have their legacy effect active…
So why Blizzard did you choose to disable tier set bonuses and legendary weapon procs within timewalking dungeons? It makes absolutely no sense…
I would very much love for this to be changed. I feel like I wasted 6-12 weeks on my daggers and my mages legendary staff, because I am almost certain the staff is going to have the same disappointment.

They used to work… wonder when it changed.
Your best bet would be items with the most sockets in then then.

As of last TW cycle, Legiondaries work, and the last tier set still works. No other tier sets work any longer. To clarify they removed the older tier set functionality quite some time ago, at the end of Legion if I remember right.

I already finished my socket set. I am just so darn disappointed that Blizzard deactivated the set bonuses even in timewalking. I can understand doing so outside of timewalking. But doing it for both was just so unecessary.

Fun detected, fun removed.

They could had very easily just kept the set bonuses active while in timewalking dungeons. The point of timewalking I am sure was for nostalgia. Nostalgia would include using legendary weapons from that content period. having fun is the goal here and Blizzard just took it away like they always do.

So now Im wondering who and why my last post was edited. I quoted Signey…
They had to deactivate them. They do not want you to see how much better the tier sets are compared to azerite gear.

I think it’s everything older than previous expansion. This started at beginning of Legion:
-
Patch 7.0.3 (2016-07-19): Set bonuses for item sets from expansions prior to Warlords of Draenor have been deactivated, though the text describing their former function still remains.
Legacy sets will show a teal text with “Legacy Set: Bonus is inactive”
So now it should be all expansions through WoD if they’re doing it the same way.

I’d only be using the tier in timewalking…
Doesn’t matter. You would still see how much better and how much more liked the tier sets are compared to this azerite crap we got now and they don’t want that.

Well they also usually cite something like, “Players were using tier gear for _______” Usually the part in the blank was something fun, like PVP twinking, or timewalking, or helping to level people through old raids, etc.
Can’t have that!

No reason to do that.
Then again, if the damn system auto quoted replies i wouldn’t need to.
On mobile theyre not nested and it friggin looks weird.
I’d take the warlocks worst set of tier gear over any azerite gear any day. Have hated azerite gear since day 1, it’s not gotten any better only worse in my eyes. Now instead of having rings to grind open on the gear we now have 2 grinds, one for azerite and one for essences, even worse to me. This expansion is the only one I have hated out of them all, and it’s because of azerite gear and now essences

Azerite is…
…when the powers decide to even activate.
Yeah I’d say it’s pretty much one of the worst things anyone has ever put into WOW at any point ever.
EDIT - Besides scaling. I’m of the opinion that scaling is the worst thing for an MMORPG ever. Azerite is a close second though.

They want TW to take longer just because.

I think they should just remove most bonus and give people all the same amount of stats(that would just be different depending of the gear you have and wouldn’t count sockets) for timewalking to be fair.
The reason timewalking exist is to make people experience old dungeons not make them speed runs. And let’s be fair when you were runing old dungeons in old expansions, you didn’t have tier sets or legendaries most of the time. And if you don’t like that content, then don’t do it.
They removed super old sets because they didnt want to keep having to update 21 teirs every time they changed a class, some of the old sets were so strong that even though they were 20 levels or so lower, they were BIS because the set would interact some odd way with how the class was changed.
For example in wotlk chaos bolt was a long cooldown, 12 seconds, so if there was a set that interacted with chaos bolt, and then suddenly now that you can just spam them out, it would be overpowered, insanely.
