I’ve been farming the old raids for awhile and took a break for a bit but now that I’m trying to make some gold I was curious if anyone has noticed that no matter what setting you put say firelands at, it only stays at 10 man even if it says 25 man as you go in the portal. That and when I do warlords 25 man raids the mobs actually have no loot on any of them in any of the instances. I was just curious if I’m doing something wrong or if people have seen this too.
Firelands is a flex raid because it’s been converted for Timewalking. That means that the server decides on the raid size, not you. And since you’re soloing, it sets it to the smallest size (10).
Does not exist.
WoD raids are flex with the exception of mythic, which is 20 people.
As for firelands, it is now flexible due to timewalking firelands being a thing (likewise BT and Ulduar are also flexible). So there is only 1 mode of firelands based on player size. Normal and heroic are still there. When you enter a flexible raid difficulty by yourself it puts it down to 10 people, which is the minimum. However for raids that are legacy loot mode activited, the amount of loot you get is equal to the maximum number of loot that would drop if your raid was filled to the max at the time (which is 25 peple for BT, Ulduar and Firelands, 30 people for SoO onwards, and 25 people for LFR). That last part is critical for BT and Ulduar which only dropped like 3-4 pieces even on 25 man prior to them being timewalking raids.
Blizzard also combined the 10 man and 25 man loot tables for Ulduar and Firelands.
Firelands doesn’t really count, as loot tables from 10 and 25man content were made the same in Cataclysm moving forward. So now you get to choose between the Normal raid or the Heroic raid.
That is true. Sometimes you miss minor details like that when writing a reasonably long post.
It is kinda annoying talking about the timewalking raids these days. Each of them had something changed to them in a unique way.
Yeah, it’s a minor detail, but there’s a reason I’ve finished mog farming everything in Cataclysm but am still working on WOTLK: I want to find whoever decided that putting four separate raid difficulties of ICC on a single lockout was a good idea and give them a good finger wagging because seriously, WTF.
My guess it was something that occurred due to the changes they made in Cata.
