I was running Dragon Soul with some friends of mine and before we entered we made sure to set the difficulty to 25H. We saw the skull show up on the portal and then we entered the raid. After killing the first boss we noticed that we did not get the achievement for the Heroic kill, and after looking at the chat log it showed that we joined a Normal Raid. We went back out, tried changing it to 10H, but we were locked in to 25N.
This happened to me a while ago when I was farming for Invincible. I opened a ticket and the only response I got was that there was nothing I could do to reset a lockout. No explanation for why it somehow got changed to Normal even though it was set to Heroic, and no mention of looking into the bug to prevent it from happening in the future.
Has anyone else experienced this? Is there any way we can get someone to look into it?

I opened up a second ticket for the same issue a couple of weeks after it happened. The GM who responded to me(after I reopened it because it got closed with an automated reply) told me that the issue has not been reported before. So hopefully people start reporting it when it happens to them.
Still having the issue, on same raid. Completed it on normal the other day and now I set it to 25man heroic and it’s still on normal. Guess they won’t fix it, because they only care about taking our money, not giving actual customer support.
Can confirm, older raids are having bugs with raid difficulties as of 01/13/24.
Firelands is not counting towards boss kills but does show a lockout. This can be found under your Statistics > Dungeons & Raids > Cataclysm as an example. Count your boss kills or if it shows 0 then head to firelands finish your lockout still remains the same number both normal and heroic.
