I’ve done Dragon Soul for months on my Warlock only to get little to nothing in terms of loot. No full set. It’s very very hard to get old gear because the drop rates are so bad. Karazhan still requires chess, horribly difficult and frustrating. BFA is impossible since no one ever does it.
If it’s not relevant then why is it so challenging? It’s not fun that’s for damn sure. Shouldn’t be 50+ hours of grinding per character per week for some cool armor.
I do understand. I run old raids and dungeons for shinies as well.
I look at it this way: if they were to make it even more trivial than it is, then they might as well just spawn a vendor outside the dungeon where you can buy whatever you need.
I don’t mind hunting for a drop. I don’t do M+ or raiding in current content. The headache isn’t worth it. BUT, I do love rummaging around older content quite a bit by myself.
If it drops, it drops. If it doesn’t? Maybe on the next run.
Try doing it on at least 6-10 alts back to back. Your base probability will still be the same, but your overall chance of the items you want, will increase.
So the drop rate of X item will still be the same every time you do it, but the more times you do it back to back (not the more times in general but back to back), the higher your chances of it dropping will be.
I’d even park all my characters there before I start clearing it on all of them.
Are you… actually asking for loot in a raid you can walk in and press a few buttons to kill every boss except one to give you exactly what you want, when you want it?
Low drop rates does nothing to help Blizzards bottom line. All it does it make players angry. The devs need to learn this but I doubt they will looking at all the other mistakes they make thinking they are earning money from.
make each legacy boss drop a currency (in addition to normal loot) you can use to buy specific pieces from legacy raids. This would let you make constant progress towards transmogs even if you’re unlucky with the item actually dropping.
one unified currency for all legacy raids.
I think drop rates need to remain intact for dumb people that want to do low level challenge runs
What has changed about legacy raid drop rates to justify this nonsense?
Aside from Ulduar (which I think loot tables were messed up when they made it part of timewalking), it’s the same as it has always been… Part of farming for old transmogs has literally always been the annoyance of not getting that one item you want. It took me absolutely forever to get the 2h mace off Blackhand, and I’ve heard horror stories about the Garrosh shoulders…which I’ve never really committed to farming myself.
If I was good at writing addons I would create one that would keep track of armor type of the player soloing the raid and compare it to the loot they got.
Agree. Legacy loot drops every possible piece the boss can actually drop. I wish they’d at least limit it to your armor type and boes. It’s annoying watching your bags fill up with tier tokens then oops wrong ones.
You must be new but I farmed all tier 6 gear on all my alts in two weeks try that now and get back to me. Glad you can defend Blizzards choice of changes they must love you for it. Cheers
Congrats for you. Just because something was hard before doesn’t mean it always should be. People have lives, families, friends. You think some brain dead grind that adds nothing to the game or our fun should be a factor? Why?
