Legacy Raid Buff

So that legacy Raid buff which gives you 10x increased chanced to get some rarer items. How does this work?

If the drop rate is 0.1%, then it’ll go to 1%? If the drop rate is 1%, will it go to 1.1%? Or is it going to be a flat 10% drop rate?

I just don’t know, because the math isn’t always applied the same. Sometimes it is applied as a flat bonus, other times as a multiplicative bonus.

Please help. Thanks!

No one knows. They like to keep low droprate RNG a mystery for some reason.

My assumption was 10x, not 10%, increase. So a 1% drop would be a 10% drop.

But who knows.

If it was the latter, then that would be a 10% increase, not a 10x increase.

Pretty sure none of the current mounts that drop in pre DF raids are .1% all are at least 1% now. even still 10% drop rate while having a bunch of chars is fine.

Also it does say “select” legendaries, so my guess that is applying for the ones that actually drop, not quest related

P.S Fix Shadowmourne biting requirement Blizzard to just killing her

No one know, not even the Devs. Sometimes it will got from 0.1% to 1%, other times it will be 10%, and in some cases it will become 0.01%.
These will be completely RANDOM, with no logic or reason behind it.

You will get 10 pairs of gloves, or 10 baron mounts!! Glhf!

Oh god yes on Shadowmorne…I have done the chain on my DK but stuck on that one part for my Paladin. Even a naked slap kills her these days.

10 times zero is still zero. :rage:

yeah but 10 times a baron mount is 10 baron mounts!!

but 10% is far better than 1%

I’ll be the one to point out that the details only say up to a 10x increase, which implies that there are things that won’t see an increase that large. And since no concrete numbers are given, this is going to be a very anecdotal experience for all involved.

My big hangup though is how transmog drop rates are going to be ‘doubled’. Gear is already guaranteed to drop, so how can the drop rate be ‘doubled’? I’m going to have to wait until the event starts to see for myself.

What I saw speculated was twice as many drops.

Yeah, but that’s still just speculation. It could mean that, or it may not even be referring to gear drops at all. It could be referring to things like enchant illusions or ‘bonus’ cosmetics like Argus’ scythe. We just won’t know until the event’s actually active thanks to how vague the details are.

They only say “up to 10x” for the items like legendaries and mounts (though the 25x they reference is almost certainly in reference to the hearthstone card toy off Gul’dan in Nighthold, given its horrific drop rate). So there’s no guarantee a mount like Ashes which averages a 2% drop rate will jump to 20%. Since the buff isn’t going to apply to the timewalking raid caches, it seems more likely that the mounts are being raised to a drop rate similar to those caches.

Of course. But that’s not a coincidence, right? Blizzard marketing is famous for making vague promises and hyping up things without details.

It’s kind of pointless wishing for detailed information from this crowd.

Oh god, that is awesome, but now I’ll run out of bag space 2x quicker lol.

I usually only have 50 slots because of reagents, a pvp set, a whole bunch of fun foods and toy effects as well as hearthstones.

I’d really wish they revert Koppers and have us sell to him. Lol :joy:

You can use the guild page or argent herald for selling when there isn’t a mountable area. Thankfully, a lot of modern raids provide a repair vendor now as well, which definitely helps.

Honestly great question.

Up to 10x ‘the hidden rate’ I guess it’ll be one of those know it when it comes.

Can you tell me a mount thats in legacy content thats 0.1% cuz i dont really know of any

Its 1% or 0.5%
