Could we hope to have Dragonflight legacy loot sooner than Midnight?
There was a brief time during the Dragonflight beta that Shadowlands instances had legacy loot, but that was switched off before launch and only one piece of loot is guaranteed from bosses when it’s like that. Then we’re at The War Within now, Shadowlands is on Legacy Loot which is awesome especially for Sepulcher since a great amount of Warbound tier tokens drop this way. At this point in the expac you only need a small amount of people to clear a Heroic Dragonflight raid but unless you get a lot of people, not a lot of loot drops. Some people can even solo them with good gear but again, one piece of loot only. Dragonflight is a great expac for mog collecting since all of the tiers have class sets so it would be fun to collect, especially once the LFR solo queue option comes in one of the next patches.
Base game players are currently doing Dragonflight and while not as vocal, this kind of messes with them as there are level 70 max guilds who are doing the raids.
There could be simple safeguards in the system to prevent Legacy Loot from messing with people who are doing the expac as their current content, if there aren’t already. Legion legacy loot was activated during BFA’s run.
I’m just saying that this whole “because DF is the new player experience and there are max level 70 guilds that want to do this content” is irrelevant to legacy loot.
Should of been made Legacy Content first Major Patch of The War Within 11.1 but here we are at 11.2 Nothing. All the people I see in this Content are Either doing the Raids and Dungeons for Meta Achievements or Purely For Transmogs and Mounts like I am We don’t want to have to Group for it and fight tooth and nail with 15-20 other players for what is now Cosmetic only Loot.
And anyone else in Dragonflight are Doing the Whole Quest Chain for Each zone to finish off Loremaster Farming Transmogs from CHests adn Rares and other Sources Doing Events to earn Mounts and Buy pets Mogs etc The One Thing I don’t See and I have hopped on a lower Level toon in Dragonflight Chormie Time and have Gone around zone by Zone /Tar “Zone” and I might see oe person out of all 4 zones actually levelling. Most people who are not new or even are new to the game are doing Dungeons or PvP to level up since Dungeons are the Fastest Way currently to go from 10-70 which takes about a day or 2 of grinding as in 12-16 hours of on off dungeon/pvp running to get there.
But we wont get Legacy for Dragonflight Early because Blizzard are Incapable of Changing there Habits they Focus on a New Expansion while a Current one is just over a year old as of now TWW is 1 year 1 month old and we already have a Pre Purchase for a New Expansion Midnight which most likely be out either by the end of 2025 or the start of 2026 so Patch11.2.5-11.3 will be out within the next month or so then about 12-14 weeks of that if that and then the Pre PAtch for Midnight then Early Access for those who Preordered the Epansion then We Might see Dragonflight become Legacy for Midnight Pre Patch I doubt it Or some time Into Midnight they will get off there Backsides and Do it Just don’t Hold your Breath for them to Enable it Early because there are not Enough People Asking for it to Warrant Blizzard to Change itover. Seeing as the Community is Mostly Casual and has little to no Enthusiasm for Topics Like this or Other Topics they aren’t part of the conversation and if We could Motivate say 2-3 million People to Upvote Comments like this and Upvote Bugs and constantly make Threads on the Topics we Want Amended then Maybe Just Maybe Blizzard will act on it but since this is a Dying Argument we Will just have to wait until Blizzard Do what we Pay them to Do which is Work for us We should not be doing Work for Them.
