I am so disappointed to see that Blizzard changed legacy loot in the worst way. Not only do LESS tier tokens drop, sometimes none drop at all! Can someone please help me understand, or substantiate WHY the devs would make this change? I’ve been playing this game long enough to know these forums are toxic as can be but I don’t care I’m still venting frustrations on such a ridiculous and unnecessary change. Rant over.
Wait… what? When did Legacy Loot rules change?
My exact thoughts being that I came back from an over a year long break, I just started running all the old raids on my 120 Druid alt and noticed it, did a little research and people said this was implemented in patch 8.0.
Oh, I thought you meant something changed recently. Yes, legacy loot was enabled at the end of Legion with the 8.0 patch. And it actually helps us with drops, it doesn’t take away from it.
Yeah, their legacy loot rules are lame for previous expansion content that isn’t previous enough apparently.
I think that if it isn’t the current expansion content then it should have legacy loot rules and not personal loot.
Legacy loot was just recently enabled for Legion content, just fyi.
I know, but it should have been legacy loot the moment legion ended and BfA started.
I guess I see their point, but yeah, it does suck.
It’s just one of those things…like why change it if it’s not broken? It was perfectly fine the way it was!!! Thanks for hearing me out and for your informative post above, it is what it is I suppose.
It was broken, though. Personal loot broke it.
I think my biggest issue with how they handle legacy loot is that they keep moving the goalposts. When they first announced it, it was going to automatically apply as soon as you were 10 levels above the raid (so, max level for the next expansion). Then they changed it to 11 levels (so two expansions later) for no apparent reason and just edited their original announcement. Now they go in and manually enable it when they feel like it.
Oh, don’t I know it. My friend drags me back to Legion raids so she can do transmog runs for plate sets and all I keep getting is cloth and artifact items. I DON’T EVEN HAVE A CLOTH CHARACTER AND THE ARTEFACTS HAVEN’T WORKED FOR YEARS NOW!
Point of legacy loot is to at least get things the boss would drop as if it were pre-personal loot.
Going in with Personal Loot, you would only ever get ONE item, if any item at all. So much fun, going to beat up Mythic Krosus every week to try and finish a set, only to get artifact relics or nothing at all.
But don’t you love killing a boss and getting 3rings and 3trinkets though?
if you are specifically talking about legion legacy loot, this is what you need to know - the bosses drop 5 loots guaranteed, however, it is shared by everyone in the party. the trick is minimizing number of people in your party so you would be sharing loot with less people, meaning, you have a higher chance of getting the loot you want.
This is a different problem, that only became an issue because usually when legacy loot is enabled, you’re able to solo it, so you just get everything.
Right now for the later legion raids you need a group for Mythic, and since there’s no group loot, people just randomly get drops, and then you have to start with loot logistics which is terrible.
I think it’d be much better if on top of legacy loot we’d have group loot, so people were less inclined to just keep stuff to vendor.
Right now I’m seeing people not putting stuff they can’t use to roll, to just ignoring whispers when you ask for it.
I think the whole loot logistics create a very alienating experience for something that should be super lighthearted.
My 2c.
I just want Blizzard to remove the stupid artifact relics from the loot pool. If I am constantly getting gear for classes I don’t play, fine, it is what it is. But the fact they keep those stupid relics in the loot table when they have not nor do not work anymore is just annoying.
Can you link the whatever you got that info from? I want to see what they are doing!
Somewhat. Some tier pieces are direct drops now instead of tokens like they used to be. So instead of getting a token that can be used by 3-4 classes, you have to hope the correct tier piece drops for you.
Artifact weapons can still have their item level boosted by relics. Basically useless, but not 100% so.
