Left Click vs Target Mouseover

I am using Combat Mode Addon. It locks the camera to a reticle/cursor that allows targeting/interacting. But when I target an NPC using the reticle, the greeting dialogue does not play. Example; if you left click a Goblin NPC, they say something like “I got a deal for you.” But if you have target mouseover bound to a key, they do not play the audio.
In Combat Mode, I have left click bound to “target mouseover.” But it does not play the audio when targeting NPCs. There is an option to have left click bound to a Macro. Is there a /click btn:1 @cursor macro I can set. When locked into reticle view, I can still use @cursor Macros to throw bombs and cast ground spells and it works. But I’m completely illiterate when it comes to this.
Basically, what is the difference from target mouseover and left clicking an NPC in the world? I really like this reticle addon but I want the NPCs to talk to me when I click them.

You want to bind the Interact Key rather than Target Mouseover.

Interact key does not play the same Greeting Audio, and it doesn’t play at all when targeting NPCs from a distance.

Most greeting audio is randomized so not sure what you mean by “same greeting audio”

And yes, the interact key does have a shorter range than right clicking whatever on your screen. There’s some CVars you can use to further customize it, I recommend AdvancedInterfaceOptions for that.

I can’t bug an NPC into annoyance with interact. Only Left Click. Not the same audio.
