“Left behind” anxiety

I have a huge problem with my attitude so cam here to vent and prove myself I am not worthless.

I am almost level 20 on classic and I feel like I am lagging behind the curve. I really want to enjoy end game content, so I am trying to push myself as much as I can with a full time job. I feel if I don’t level quickly enough I will not get a raid spot and will just be left behind.

Seems idiotic, I know, is there anyone else with the same issue? How did you cope? What am I doing wrong?

EDIT: I just wanted to say that if you feel like I’m trolling, it’s understandable, but definitely was not my intention. I really appreciate the replies and advice, guys. Just feel like it needs to be said just in case: loving classic a lot, have not had so much fun in a long long time.

You are ahead of like… eighty percent of people right now. Don’t stress, you are ahead of the curve.

Glad you know lol. You’ll raid.

Leveling too slowly. Chop chop!

I am level 10 still because I have only had 2 hours to play Monday and Tuesday because of the queues.

Lvl 10 here. Aiming for 20 by next Sunday. 60 by Nov. You are fine.

Doing better than I am currently and I also have a full time job! The best thing to think about is this game will be around for a long time to come, so don’t worry about the rush to max or keeping up with the curve if it’s stressing you out that much. Remember it’s a game so take your time and enjoy it.

Hey, I’m only level 12. How’s that? I can’t sit up to play for long periods of time. (Posting right now on my laptop from bed.)

You’ll be fine. This isn’t retail.

You’re not left behind. You’re enjoying the game like it was meant to be played instead of speedrunning it.

Keep doing what you’re doing. Take in the lore and the scenery. Enjoy World of Warcraft as it was years ago, and as it will be for years to come. The post-Wrath days of mindless heroism and one-man cleavetanking are gone now.

Just keep playing and enjoy Azeroth.

Classic unlike retail is about the journey. I myself love the process of going up in levels and am not racing. However if your idea of fun is the end content then only you can decide if you are behind your imagined curve or not.

You will be just fine. End game content is not that hard. You can always find another guild or raid group which needs raiders. 20 is not that far behind anyway considering the long Qs.

20 already? Wow. I’m level 6 and just plodding along at a leisurely pace. I don’t full understand the rush, it’s not like the endgame is going to go anywhere.

But you do you, neighbour. It’s about having fun, not stress.

Way ahead of the curve. Top people in my guild right now are lv 15…

Don’t stress, keep in mind this endgame content has been done nine bajillion times already, there are really no firsts here. Remind yourself your here to savor a vintage experience with like minded friends.

I wish I was trolling, mate.

I do agree with you that it does seems incredibly stupid to feel that way. I have played retail for so long that i forgot how not to race, it really sucks kinda

I’m level 7.

You’re doing yourself a disservice by blazing past some of the best content in the game.

If you want to be a cutting edge raider, then maybe that’s necessary, I dunno. But for the vast majority, there will always be new guilds and players running MC on up. That’s the advantage of no real catch up mechanics - there will always be plenty of folks starting fresh and working up.

Are you sure you’re happy with your class choice? It’s not too late to start over, while you’re still just getting started.

Seriously though you’re way ahead of the curve…

Oh yes, I love the game, the class, everything.

It’s just that feeling at the back of my head, kinda pressuring me.
